Serpent Cobra GT
Did a search and couldn't find a dedicated thread to this fine car.
What do you think about the car and will you be getting one? Let's get the thread going. http://www.rcbonus.com/news/wp-conte...ght0202127.jpg http://www.rcbonus.com/news/wp-conte...ght0202128.jpg http://www.rcbonus.com/news/wp-conte...ght0202129.jpg http://www.rcbonus.com/news/wp-conte...ht02021210.jpg Pics are from the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2012. http://www.rcbonus.com/news/?p=273 |
Yes sir, I've been eyeing this since Serpent first hinted at it. And I think they'll have a winner right out of the gate forcing Ofna and Kyosho to step up their game.
I would've preferred a long wheelbase car though. The profile on short 1/8 GT's have always looked odd and out of proportion to me. In any case I do plan to race one this summer! :tire: :tire: |
I like it and it is a Serpent, so you know it is a quality kit. Any word when it will be available?
The Cobra looks great. I even like the new body. I prefer the short chassis and this car looks to be just what I'm looking for this season.

do anybody know what size tank the car will have 125cc or 150cc?

You can bet it is 150cc, they know that most of the rules say 150cc and Serpent is not going to get into the game with a dissadvantage. They were working with a truggy so thats what they would use.

Yes, it has kick up. Cobra GT uses the same Diff cases, arms, ...general parts of the Buggy.

In the pictures it looks like it has a 125cc tank.
right now i race with the 125cc on my DM1 spec now ...haven't any problems but in all i can't wait for the cobra to come ...i love my 966 and i bet this car going to be just as good:nod:
Both tanks fit. You can use whichever one you like or need. The kit is suppose to have the 150cc. :D

all good ...i love serpent:tire: |
That's cool on the tank. Most races I attend allow the 150cc tank, so if I decide to try the new Serpent I'll like the option of the bigger tank.
Already have pilot using here in Brazil, the car was highly praised!

I can't to see what this beast can do! My beloved Kyosho might get kicked to the back burner........:nod:

Hats off to Serpent for stepping up the game in GT class. Their quality and know how will raise the bar for the GT world. I know here in Utah we have a good bunch of GT racers that are waiting to see this kit.
Hope this class explodes and continues to remain more affordable than 1/8th pan cars. With the popularity of 1/8th off-road at an all time high the GT on-road class will provide an easy avenue for a lot of the off-road guys to have a little bit of pavement fun as well.
Which Nova Rossi is in that car?
This new GT car look amazing. Wonder if the Truggy chassis would fit on this.
It looks really great! Any idea about the price? I really looking forward to it. Please let me know if it releases to public. Anyone driving for serpent?

This is definitely a premium kit not really aimed at the street basher, so I would assume it will be in the same ball park of the 811 Cobra buggy $500-$550. Only reason I see them charging a little more for this kit over the buggy is because of the 2 speed transmission. Unlike 1/8th pan cars where there is only a few top end chassis, you will probably see a plethora of current 1/8th off-road competition chassis manufactures releasing on-road GT versions of their buggies. This will allow for a wide variety of choice and hopefully keep prices competitive. I'm sure HB will also release something for the budget conscious racer for this class. Good times ahead for the GT on-road racing. |
I think ill get one as long u can get good top end
We have received final pricing for the Cobra GT and it will be the same as the Cobra TE buggy. You can check with your favorite/local dealer for exact pricing but street price will be around $560.
Guess I'm just gonna convert my 811be to the GT since they dont know when the GT elctric will be released. Won't be the first buggy I converted to a onroad car.
