Serpent 747 1/10 200mm touring @Nurnberg Toy Fair 2012

Stock setup is really good. The only changes I made so far,
500k in front diff, 60k rear, 2.0 rear anti roll bar and blue springs up front.
I also tried the rear shock extensions and liked it enough to leave them. The tracks I run on have real high traction by mid day and the car works good. I still have alot of testing to do, but I found a real good starting point

What's the reason for cutting the part that holds the front diff in? For flex without using the flex system? Maybe weight?
I noticed he did this on the 747 when redrc showed pictures of his car one other time

The reason for the cut is that it frees up the front bearings a little. You can use a sanding drum on the underside of the nylon diff bracket where the plastic bearing retainer sits. Remove a little material so the bearing retainer can slide left right a little easier. Makes the front a lot more free!

Actually it does not. The diff bracket attaches to the front shock tower which will still prevent flex (unless i pivots on the mounting screws in which case you'd end up with tweak).
