it sounds like fun, hope it works, but the conrod looks very very umm skimpy, and have you tryed nifing the leading edge of the crank
|
I can asure you the conrod has the same strength as b4, even on a dummy prop load i hav spun the engine to 38k rpm's for 45sec with out a single loss, allthough i did see quite a bit more stress on the piston skirt B4 i trimed it up.

Your talking about KNIFE edgeing the crank, yes that help's with oil slosh and it might verry well help us here,Let me draw up a plan and order a new batch of crank's and try this once more shall we :)
BTW Here is my 3 .18 beauty's I will be building up the OS engine there by request of a certain some one on this forum ;) I need to find a good carb for it as that HPI is under sized for any real power. http://www.linkforcecorner.com/uploa...s/1/3beast.JPG http://www.linkforcecorner.com/uploa.../1/3beast2.JPG |
hehe, take the os carb off the 18ss and put ti back on the 18 cv-r just temporarily as you mod it
|
i need a pull start crank and backplate for the OS b4 i can test it, ill go order that stuff right now.
EDIT: Just orderd the new part's they should be here day after tomorrow. |
Ok guy's i just tore my tranny down and found a piece of trash stuck in the 2nd gear clutch, could be why my shift's were wacked out..any idea's for preventing this?
|
Drive in a cleaner parking lot.
Actualy, that was a serious comment. Getting debris inside the 2 speed is pretty rare. I wouldn't worry unless it starts happening regularly. |
Yea i was thinking the same thing, by my tranny isent stock, it has a billet case thats verry open.
|
There might be a lexan cover available for the NMT that would fit since it shares the same drive train.
