wow thats insane, you ahve a dyno? and i did some modding to mine, sleeve work, slight port timing, shaved head, rounded bottom of sleeve (i forgot the name) skirted the piston more, ground down the rod insanely, and ground some on the crank, wow 2hp is insane, have you thought about modding the os? and i might buy the engine from you when i need a new sleeve, $40 is a steal

BB Mods's 07-10-2006 12:18 PM

The OS ill do slight porting on for you and ill shave the head to match the piston :) as for the stock rod i allway's drill mine, i dont shave rod's, i drill them with a tiny bit to lighten it up, keep's the rod stress even on both end's, $40 for the motor and ill toss in the other work.

Well i went out tonight and ran the car for a while, took me 5 lap's on slick's b4 the car tore the tires off the rim's....back to the drawing board guy's..i need a super duity set of tires and rim's for this car..cause at the pace im going this will get verry costly really fast..i could detune the engine..but i dont want that :) Any idea's guy's? im getting fiber towers for the front and rear, billet diff boxes for front and rear, titanium clutch (custom made) billet flywheel, billet A arm's front and rear, and then its down to the tires..what can i get to hold onto a super powerfull car.

apollo 07-10-2006 11:21 PM

can i ask how you are making that titanium clutch?

and have you tried these tires yet? i have had a problem with tires too, btw bbmods, you have a pm

BB Mods's 07-11-2006 08:23 AM

I have a good friend thats a machinest and we desided to make a titanium friction disk and plates for the car..dident take long and the stoping power feal's better now...Bout them tires..funny you ask, i just got that same HPI set last night, took the car all of 4 tank's of fuel to rip them to chunks :)

Just so you know you can find brand new R40's in box for that price, local hobby shops and elsewhere. They are well worth a try if you are looking for big jumps in performance. I always try to keep in mind with my older kits that sometimes money is best spent on just a newer kit at some point.

Allthough it should handle better , im sure a stock r40 could probably outhandle and outaccelerate your rs4-3.

Not trying to stray though from the fact that this is a thread for the rs4-3. As well Im sure you might say that its what you wanted and thats fine. Just trying to keep that point in mind. As some of you act like this might be your only on-road vehicle. Id drive the rs4-3 and leave it stock , when your taste for performance grows , Id save for the uber cheap standard r40 kit now.

Otherwise I would purchase things that you can transfer from one car to the next. Like radio , servos , motors (not sure if it takes a pilot shaft, rear exhaust motor but if you can go that route). As well like the hpi threaded aluminum shocks or V2 shocks are a good upgrade that can transfer over.

With the tires, are you cleaning the rim and rubber before you glue? They shouldn't really fly off of the rim. The real question is why you arn't using foam tires. They come pre glued and really are better suited to high speeds.

You might also want to check out Wolfpak radicals. They have a number of pretty good mods for your car to handle crazy power.

http://www.wolfpackradicals.com/

Give them a shot, they have been around for years.

BB Mods's 07-11-2006 11:41 AM

This is a high power play car..my super car's are hpi proceed's :)

Ill give them guys a shot but i never liked foam...

Artificial-I 07-11-2006 11:43 AM

Foam is also cheaper and will have more grip. Most likely will shred fast if your all about breaking traction on coarse surfaces. Otherwise try some pit shimizus rubbers , they come preglued...should work.

Speaking of which. Do you want any spares or a spare chassis. I have on thats got quite a bit of mods , spare chassis , a larger box half full of foams , upper decks , like a smaller box full of spares and brand new parts , along with 2 large red plano bins full of spares. LMK in a pm. The amount of stuff is amazing.

Here is the start of my new .18ss beast,i have big plan's for her, including a custom made .010 Wiseco piston with short skirt, then im going to use my micro sunnon hone (made for honeing car engine piston wrispin guides :p ) Maby i can hit 2.2hp on 30% nitro..long shot but i want to try...

apollo 07-11-2006 02:00 PM

wow dude thats crazy, how has your rod not been thrown yet? can we get a clearer picture? i wunna see what you did to your crank too

Artificial-I 07-11-2006 02:04 PM

Yeah I can only imagine how quickly it will start to stretch.

BB Mods's 07-11-2006 02:17 PM

all of my rod's are drilled that way, i dont get more then .002 strech after 8 gallons of fuel running top speed.Im charging the batt's on my sony W7 digi cam right now (dead batt's make for unclear pic's)

This is the best position for my crank porting that i have seen thus far, i had no other gain's with any other combo after porting 6 crank's
