Out of the box setup the RRR is more on point & feels very stable
for the MTX4 I built it box setup & it was very loose & very twitchy so after alot of tweaking got the car dialed but really did not like the performance car is very weak at some points. I seen alot of guys stripping gears & breaking shock towers luck for me that was not the case. I guess since i know the RRR very well it might just be my comfort zone. But i can tell you the RRR is a more durable car I have not broken a shock tower yet. and where im racing @ were on full throttle 75% of the track & I hit some boards @ full throttle going in to tight & hot & come off with a common damage of breaking a arm versus seeing a guy with a MTX4 hiting the same part of the track & he is replacing 4-5 parts versus one part from a RRR. I would have to say that if i had more time with the Mtx4 I would of enjoyed it but i still think it is to fragile.

Thanks 710baby! Good info. Maybe I won't get a MTX-4 after all. My WCE has been pretty durable given the abuse I've been dishing out. I hit the boards pretty hard this past weekend and the only thing I really destroyed were my wheels. Maybe Mugen will come out with a Team/Factory edition that will address some of these issue. That might be the right time to pick one up.

Being an average driver, I banged my V1RRR a lot. I broke the shock tower once, but never had any gear problems.

i think you either have your gear mesh wrong or the 2 speed assembly is always engaging so maybe theres a pebble in the 2 speed shoe assembly.

with the gear mesh if theres too much play the spur tooth and pinion tooth can meet when the car rolls back making the car lock up.

A guy at my LHS recommended that I switch to the 15T gear (VZ214-15). Kit comes with 16T. Anybody got any advice to go along with this changing in gearing? Thanks!

The stock gearing is already low and you would need a track with good traction to benefit going any lower.
