Nice Bug!
Of course if you're going to sell them they are worth more NIB, If you're a car nut like me you might want to assemble at least one of them just for the sheer joy of it. I just sold my Calsonic with a OS LD engine to a guy in France.
Tip for shipping oversees, attach extra customs forms on the package. Mine got stuck in Customs for a month because one was missing!

I have an HPI R40 available close to home I can grab. Whats it worth and is it worth grabbing? Supposedly they were good back in the day. Thanks

It's an SMP Slide v2005, the last one. Raced it in the 1/8 on track Euros in 2005 and the remaining races in the local championship and then quit 1/8 racing. I still have the car in the exact condition it finshed the last race of the 2005 season.

Slide
Nice Tim! That Slide is in awesome shape. it looks built like a tank. I have a Kyosho Evolva 2005 WC Edition with a Mario Rossi 21 engine never started. I'm debating whether to sell it or run it and I'm still on the fence!

Sorry, can't see the pics...
I did get out of 1/8 because of the extremely high cost required to run at a competive level. For each race we needed about 4-6 sets of tires and about a gallon of fuel (including Staurday practice sessions). Engine maintenance was also expensive (changing rod, bearings and piston sleeve at regular intervals). Bodies where usually changed every 2 races.
If you add to this the race entry fees, the track admitance fees for Saturday practice and all the related expenses to drive to the track, stay there for the race etc..., it got pretty expensive at a point.

I hear you.... I had always heard of how expensive 1/8 scale racing was, now I know why. Then you have travel expense, your time and energy, It stops becoming fun and becomes tiresome. I like just setting up a track and racing with my friends. No pressure.
BTW I reloaded the pics

Now I see them. Great car. I drove an Evolva once, right after the last race of the next season after I had already quit. The friend who let me drive his car had just won the national championship with it. It was very good. It felt very stable but with the right amount of steering, very light and acceleration was excellent, better than the Slide (which was a bit heavy). I assume modern 1/8 cars are now even better, that's why I don't drive the Slide anymore (and if I break something there is no way to find parts).
If I had the funds, I would surely do it again. But I don't...

Does anyone know anything about this car? The last pic is of the condition i got it in. Pretty sure all the effort put into it doesnt justify the end value...but i think its a cool car.
