Same reason as Kyosho, not many team drivers drive the V one RR EVO outside of Asia
This is because of sponsership.

In north america, team associated and trinity sponser many top drivers, so you see many of their cars in the races here. However, I believe that mugen does not... so you dont see as many of their cars in the big events. (note the word as many)

however, take a look at japan, do you think that the people there think that assiciated (just an example) suck because they dont have as many factory sponser drivers driveing their cars there? Of course not! But kyosho and Mugen dominate there...

I can bet you that the serpent 710, under the hands of a pro, will be just as fast as a pro driving a mugen or a kyosho or any other car

I dont judge a car by how many international races it has won, because nearly any car can win.

That's the point, at the euros there were no real teams there other than Salven with the Serpent, and Drescher with Associated. I'm not dissing the rest of the drivers there but it wasn't a true representation for the manufacturers of the cars. At the end of the day cars from Kyosho, Mugen, Serpent, Associated, Yokomo, GS, Team Magic are all good cars that are capable of winning races for anyone, be it the works drivers or a local club racer, none of the major manufacturers make a bad car.

Chill out FREAKAH!!!!!!! No need to spit your dummy out.

I agree none of the top cars are bad, and all are capable of winning on the day.

Look for good spares support because no matter how tough these guys tell you the cars are there will be a time when you need spares.....and options of course!!
rcjayy, yes above statement is the most wise on this thread you started. Also if there are second choices (beside the most important - parts availability), choose the one that most people is using. So that way you would get better help on tuning and everything.

rcjayy, before deciding on what car you want you really need to check the availability of spares at your LHS. By the sounds of it they don't stock the Kyosho so your'll probably struggle to get spares aswell. I know from experience that dealing over the phone for spares can really be a pain in the butt!

Don't forget the new FW-05R!!
I've just started running mine and wow what can I say. I've been driving V1R's since 1998, and with only 1 test drive of the new car I can say it is much better.
You may want to look at the new FW-05R.

The VoneR didn't exist until late 2001/early 2002.
