I am new at this popular forum!

Some tips for the S-710.

I recomend to use the new alu levers for the front, as it stabilizes fhe front and makes front down-stop settings more accurate.

On my car I have changed the rear ds-screws to a M4 for more stabile ds setting.

With the alu levers, is it simply due to the material being more stable?

With the rear droop screw, you used an M4 grub screw and drilled out the hole in the suspension arm?

Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark,
Thanks! :)

Front: yes the alu is more stabile so the small M3 insex screws works better then they touch the alu levers instead of the more flexible parts.

Rear: I drilled the holes to 3.3mm and replaced the standart M3 insex with a M4. Works nice I think!

Cheers!

PS. I will check in here now and then....

I figured the aluminum Anti-roll bar levers would solve my problem with the bars not being securely tightened down.
Good to have a second opinion from a Serpent Team Driver.
Thanks.

Sure....
My clutch setup is as follows: the yellow shoe (good!), standard fly weights, hard spring (grey from old centax-2), sping tension about 9.5mm (from shaft end to nut) and a clutch play of 0.45-50mm. Exellent!

PER-OLA HARD,
What other optional parts are you running in your car?

Welcome to the 710 forum! Glad to have another Factory Team Driver join us ;)

Pyramid

When you adjust the drag brake do you not only adjust it from the brake linkage screw but on your transmitter as well? Incase it starts to fade I was hoping you can adjust it using your tx? Is it possible without interfering with your carb settings?

First, thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I think we can have a lot of fun here!

Optionals, actually I am no fan of optionals but as a team driver it is my duty to test things (a nice duty though.... hehe). I only use Serpent orginal option parts:

* The pro brake pads, works good almost no wear but the steel brake plate seems to wear instead (but cheaper to replace). I use the pro plate with holes.

* The middle axle alu support, good but not a must have....

* The radiotray and chassi alu support, really stiffens up the car and makes chassi bend less during a crash, a must have!

* The front alu levers for the anti-rollbar, a must have!

* The new rear rollbar, makes the rollbar action more accurate and no play, I recomend to try this one if traction is decent.

Another tips (I have used it the last weeks) is to use a longer inner pin in the rear driveshafts (11.7mm instead of 9.7mm) as this decreases the wear of the rear diff steelparts. These pins was used in the S-705 and Impact differentials and seems to work, make sure they are perfectly centered though.

Good luck!

Thanks PER-OLA HARD.
How much does your car weigh when it's race ready?
Do you have a picture of the new rear roll bar?

When will the front orange alu levers for the anti-rollbar be available?
