Originally posted by KevinS Most RC manufacturers use lower grades of Ti, which is a shame. Higher grade (5 and up  ) Ti is just as strong as steel. About stock Serpent screws; lately some are of poor quality. Especially 4mm grub screws and some 3 and 4mm button head screws don't fit my Hudy allen tools... :weird: (yes, I used the correct size  ) Thanks for the added info on screw quality. Fortunately, I did not experience this on my 950R or 710 - just rust..... |

Originally posted by Sparky66 No reason really InitialD. Serpent specifying 3.9mm balls as standard, so I chose to stay nominally below 4mm, hence choosing 5/32" ( 3.96875 mm ) balls. But I guess 3.96875 mm is pretty good anyways.:D |

Originally posted by 840918001 Does anyone use titanium screws in his Serpent 710? Well, I too have hopped onto the titanium bandwagon. Mine are all from the Barracuda electric car maker Xenon / Alex Racing. Originally posted by 840918001 I want to try titanium screws in my Serpent 710. Not because of the weight saving, but more for the strenght. |

I also got the Hudy Profitool version of the 2 mm allen driver. Boy, they are so tight fit !I found that they fit real good and I actually had a hard time taking the M3 button head screw out of the Profitool tip ! |

Seriously...my tools are about 2 months old with some signs of use but nothing bad. I have had this problem with 3 of the grub screws in the last kit. With one of them I managed to push the tip in and it was hard to get it out again. The others I have just thrown away because they simply don't fit the tools. They also didn't fit my cheapo set of Bondhus L shape allen keys. |
