Both tire size and ride height affect your droop. If you alter either you have to correct the droop to keep it proper.

That is correct.

There are many jargons being use for that kind of thing such as downstops, droops, rebound stroke, etc.. each of course has `meant` to be different in meaning. Anyway I`m kind of understand what you meant and yes it does not effect the reading

just bought a battery pack for my serpent and am having alittle trouble becuase the connecting end on the pre made rechargeble pack cant connect to anything because the connecting end on the on/off switch only has two wires and the rechargeble battery pack has three and i cant connect it to the on/off swith because it the two end pecies dont match each other what do i do?:(

Cut it off and add the right plug that you need.

even when i connect the battery pack directly to the reciever it doesnt work. does the battery pack need to be recharged first i just got it its new and i havent used it as yet. and its made by serpent its the 700mah pack do you have to recharge these packs the first time you get them? because mines seem as though it needs to recharge or it just doesnt work with my reciever.

Try charging it up first.

Ummm, that's a hard call. I remember reading some economics book or something along the lines that if the repair is like more than 75% of the cost of the engine, then might as well get the new engine. But then again, the piston sleeve, conrod and the main bearing is like about 60% of the cost of the new engine... It's your call.

If you can sell parts of the engine like the carb, the front bearing or the crankshaft or even the engine crackcase, then I would do so. Else, if you look the other way around, you have spares that you can play around and do some test if you're interested in modding stuff...:sneaky:

Ahh, you're most correct.:nod: I thought I mentioned somewhere in that reply that you only reset the droop when you use smaller / bigger tires AND set the ride height back to original. Of course when you're using 64 mm tires and with 5 mm ride height and then decide to change to 60 mm tires, you'll end up at 3 mm ride height and you won't want to change it back to 5 mm ride height?:sneaky:

Ooophs... I thought when you mentioned titanium shafts, you were referring to titanium dogbones (because rear layshaft and the front or mid shaft in titanium is already readily available) to which I replied titanium doesn't have very good wear properties especially when used as a dogbones.

Anyway, aren't we all using titanium main 2 speed shaft and the mid shaft already? :sneaky: :lol:

Oh I C. I would have thought Hudy spring steel dogbones would be nice and the preferred choice. If they ARE avaiable I've not seen them sold yet. :)

I didn't know that Serpent already made Ti main shafts! I've got the Serpent Ti front/mid shaft already. :sneaky: but had to buy the Shooter main shaft.

Somehow I do not have a good feeling for Ti dogbones though. In fact the wear properties and brittleness would show up more so in dogbones than in Ti shafts. If dogbones were made of Ti, I'm almost sure that the first thing to go would be the bits at the end that goes into those drive slots. :)

Not me :rolleyes: This rebuild will definitely include them now though :blush:

Our bros Pyramid / Goldfinger (and probably some others) have noted and reported that the Impact front dogbones are not made by Hudy already...:(
