Re: Re: Setting 2 speed clutch
Originally posted by Sow&Steady B4, if you say that you're starting the car up for the first time then I assume you're still running in the engine? If so then it's still rich and hence would not be revving up enough to engage the 2nd speed. Continue with the runnin in process and after tuning close to optimum performance then you should see the 2nd speed kick in. This engine was in my Kyosho V-One-RR Evo before i saw the light and converted to the snake. However I have taken the gearbox apart since my original post on this subject and checked to make sure i set it as per the instructions. I was slightly out but not by much, perhaps under load it will change, although load will make no change to the centrifigul forces that make the clutch operate. |

 Has anyone tried the monotuning new head? 11 fins and vented at the base.

Re: ball diff
Originally posted by PhatPat I know this question has been asked before. I've been lightly greasing my ball diff. Will it work better & last longer if I didn't oil the diff as in the serpent instructions? Greasing the balls with normal grease also does not cut it. You need sticky grease so that the grease will not fly off when they spin. My personal opinion and experience. |
Bunch of Mugen guys giving some very nice commments and grunts  at my 710 today :sneaky: :D They loved the way it looked around the circuit
If possible, I'll make a movie of a lap.....lets see! |
Re: Re: ball diff
Originally posted by InitialD I have not tried not greasing the balls. I have seen what happens when one does not grease the balls. The balls get gritty and even AFTER rebuilding the diff using the same balls, the diff still remains gritty. My guess is that the balls have already got flat spots that cannot be even out. If you grease the balls when new, they stay smooth for very long. Greasing the balls with normal grease also does not cut it. You need sticky grease so that the grease will not fly off when they spin. My personal opinion and experience. http://www.mytsn.com/publ/publ.asp?pid=9580&ccid=9 |
