So I start by laying the chassis on a flat surface and make sure it doesn't rock because it's bent. If the chassis is deformed, replace it. The alloy has been permanently weakened and it will continue to deform with much less stress. I put a 6 mm allen wrench under the chassis on the fixed bar as it approximates the ride height and maintains the fore/aft balance. I worked for a very long time trying to get 4 scales to point balance all 4 wheels at the same time (unsuccesfully--a long story). However, one little tid-bit I learned was not to use the car wheels for this. There are enough differences in wheel radius, foam thickness and/or hard spots in the foam to make pressure differences greater than 30 Gms by simply rotating the wheels. I use the set-up vertical pieces that replace the wheels in the set-up kit. If both ends are balanced (port/starboard) and the chassis is flat in between, the car is right. Your last two steps will double-check that everything was done correctly.:nod: |

If you have small tires on one side and use the lift method you will end up with a not tweaked car (equal tire load on both sides) although the chassis would lean over to the small tire side. |

The SPD tweakstation is a must for me. I measure the ride height only in the middle of chassis and find perfect left-right balance on top of tweakstation. Very easy to find it when the shock is newly rebuilded. With this setup my car(not the chassis) is always in balance and braking is easier ;) |
