Agreed.
I'm the sort of guy who makes his own belt tensioners after seeing the Kyosho price. ;)
It's not the price, so much, as the insult.

But anyway, why don't you change the clutch completely to the Centax 3? That would eliminate the problem since you will use the Centax 3 flywheel and all their internals. Just make sure your engine mounting height is 14.5 mm with a 4 mm chassis.

Yep, I'd reckon on using all the Centax 3 bits, including flywheel, but I'm not expecting the 710 pinions would work with the MTX spurs and also thought the whole Centax 3 clutch might have been longer overall. Maybe because it's skinny, it looks longer.

Or better still change the car to a 710?
But there's no perceivable advantage in this, though. ;)

Does anyone know the Michael Salven Worlds setup or where to find it.. Is it the same as Mark Green.

rangulo 02-01-2005 10:44 PM

Michael Salven please put your worlds setup here or on mytsn.
Thanks

I don't think Michael Salven posted his 710 setup.

But Mark Green did. It's not with a front solid but with a hard front diff.

 I'm just trying to "think different".

Now, I just took a couple of measurements from the Mugen clutch:

The distance from the rear of the flywheel to the rear of the 2nd gear pinion is 19.1mm.

Clutch bell diameter is 29mm

Flywheel is 33mm

Engine mounts are 14mm

just be careful when you hammer the pins, may cause the doggie to fly or break if you are not careful and precise. I tried very hard to hammer the pin but refused to budge. Need a bigger vice and heavier hammer.

Well if someone had bought a 710, like sparksy and I told him too then you would not need to fit a 710 clutch onto a mugen.....would you:rolleyes: :sneaky: :D

I found it really depends on the support of the dogbone. I use an old Hudy tool, but it's no longer available I think. Another good way is using an old motor mount or alu block with a 3.5-4mm hole in it. It supports the ball of the dogbone on a larger area than the jaws of a vice.

If you want to get really hobbyistic. Take a alu block about 10mm high, drill a 3.5mm hole all the way through and then takr a countersink and make a dip in th top so the dogbone has good support. This block is placed on a good heavy vice with slightly open jaws. Hammer away!

Once the pin is flush with the ball you'll need a pin that is slightly smaller than 3mm to push it out. I think you'll find stuff like that in the hardware store. One of these pins to push headless nails into wood work well.

I will tell them...

As I was leading the race and pulling away from Taylor Racing, he decided to use me as brakes at the end of the straight, end result broken shock tower :flaming:

It is not my fault if I am too fast for you  maybe I should bolt in a kit pullstart engine to give you a chance.
