I thought I did mention this earlier that I degreased all my bearings except the small ones that goes into the clutch and the flanged bearing that goes into the 2 speed hub. The other reason why I don't degrease and put thin oil in those bearings is because they do more harm spitting out oil excess into the clutch bell which can affect performance. If you really need to oil them because they are dry, try packing light grease into them and clean the outside. I use a 40w oil when I clean the bearings, which seems quite good. I also didn't want to use a thin oil for them for the same reasons which you said. I also need to readjust my clutch, as the car was a little bit "lazy" coming out of the corners last night - my engine tuning seemed ok, so it must be due to the clutch, I think. I've ordered some of the new serpent rims with 40 shore tyres - looking forward to seeing how they hold up to my mad driving :lol: It was really good to get back to driving again - first time in quite a few weeks (a month I think). The car was still runing really well and I only had to make a slight change in the rear anti-roll bar setting to get a bit more steering - this was the best setting I've had so far with the car and I could really fly out of the big sweeper on full throttle. I've ordered the new anti-roll bars, to see if this further improves the amount of steering. |

If for some reason they splatter on the clutchbell, they tend to stick on it more stubbornly than normal oil. Make sure you clean them properly. Yeah, the harder the REAR sway bar setting, the better the car becomes. Especially on throttle.:nod: After they have cooled down, I wipe all excess oil off. This should last forever, and like D said, i never re-lube it again. Just spin the clutchbell after engine rebuilding to make sure they still smooth. Im not sure why but i have some case like that in my local track. Maybe coz the oil they use can not stand the heat. |
