Is this with the Mega ZX 12?

you tried changing the tank? I know someone who had the same problem they tried different motors and they changed the tank and it was fine

720 anyone?

The 1st thing I did was change the tank and all the lines. It didn't seem to make a difference. It originally did it with a JP X12 with half a season on it in my NTC3 and then I switched to a brand new Mega 12 as a last resort. The 1st 2 tanks after break-in ran great. I had the motor set rich and came in about 180-190. After letting the motor cool I went back out and about half way through it leaned out all of a sudden. By the time it came back around it was lean bogging and temped at 300. No one at the track could figure it out. I had at least 5 or 6 guys that tried to tune the car with no luck after that 5 minute mark. Of the 7 weekends I ran I only finished a total of 5 heats and 1 main without motor incidents. The previous year I finished every race I entered.

The car itself ran flawless.

try another tank i want to say there was somthing wrong with the lid seal but i would try another one or pull the carb completely apart and check the needles

Dan D 01-16-2006 07:08 PM

do you take your motors apart before you break them in and clean them?

So, i'm already warming up for the comming outdoor season here.. and i'm planning om making my car a little lighter. With the new rear diff being one of the improvements :D

Now what hop-ups or mods do you guys apply to the 710 to make it lighter?

Dan D 01-17-2006 04:55 PM

what does your car weight? i think its pretty close out of the box to weight requirements

It is very wise to complete clean out the motor and carb before breakin to make sure there is no burs or material left over from the machining of it.
