Anyone have a problem with the rear end breaking loose with stock setup ? What springs and oil are you guys using in the rear? And pistons?

we have had no problem with clutch but it dose wear a lot quicker than 4r red one it dose take about 3 laps for 2 speed to work/ and i have had no prob/but i will not play with it as it seams to have settled now did strip grub screw in 2 speed shoe early but no trouble since i replaced it/put mugen grease on roller it will last for ages it did on 4r

try and get rid of a bit of front grip they keep telling me that but i keep trying to get more on back /softer springs/purpel/blue front we run 40/40 shure but a lot like softer front i hate wearing out tires to quick

I kind of feel with the clutch people are possibly over doing it, what I noticed is it's a high strung setup out of the box, set nearly flush on the preload, you can wind it in a little, but it's also a progressively slipping shoe also, so start cranking on that preload, and you will likely burn shoes and just overheat it in general, possibly making other things like the two speed harder to tune.

My five did suffer some odd two speed warm up issues in one heat on the weekend, took a good 4 laps to start shifting right, but most times it's fairly repeatable in setting, I started putting just a tiny bit of grease on the roller pins also, not sure if it's helped, or created that weird warm up lag I got.

In terms of setup, I know mine has usually been good in most ways regardless of some settings, I will say though that I tried the 'full' Rob P setup at one point, and it had too much of everything, making it fast, but a handful so ended up slow for me (I'm likely just not that good).

I'd say for lots of guys though, something along the lines of, two hole pistons front, 2.2mm rear bar, maybe light blues front, purples rear, depending on traction, I think softer oils suit the car (in shocks and diff), but not everyone is finding that.

Go long top rear links, big tip there is to use steering ball links on one end so they don't risk pulling out, play with roll centers depending on traction, narrow track works well for me, also small length link tweaks on the front bar make a noticeable change depending what your chasing.

baileys car is nealey standard set bit here bit there we have left f/shocks standard/3000000 front diff 50000 rear diff but new /current body gives plenty of grip and very stabell or so he tells me i like older ones tires 40 /40 tried 37 f but he doesn't like it went back to blue springs all round i Can't drive the dame thin 4r is just great

Finally got a chance to practice on a nearly empty track. Ran about half a gallon. This car simply works.2 speed is flawless clutch is fantastic, stripped 0 gears.

see i told you when you get it wright it is great to drive now cross your fingers it stays that way //keep eye on gear mesh seems to be really important on mtx5

Yes it is a great car. I had learned that the reason of my rear breaking loose is because of too much toe out and too much Ackerman. That was my mistake.

The one thing I don't like is the front bumper, when the car rolls in the turns it can touch the ground, and I always have to bend it back into position. Is there an optional bumper.? Also the foam is useless . I drive without it.
