Rookie / Centax: have no idea what partnumber Ofna has on it, the original Hong Nor number is: #336 though.

Initial: No, I first did it for me... then I made a version for Serpent, then AE. The gear chart is only AE NTC3 though!

Do note, since page 195 in this thread I've been posting some tip on some things: an easier adjustable front swaybar, foam+foam front bumper, new partnumbers for the new version 2 Nitro TC3 cars (including the Factory Team) and also posting some tips on the building of my own FT-NTC3 with version 2 rear suspension etc. If you just jumped in this forum, you might want to jump back ta page 195 and forward...

The 28T HongNor pinion does not fit a std AE clutch - only their centax version.

Thanks for the info, however, seems like it is difficult to get HongNor parts here in state....Tower only sells the stock version, not the PRO version nor the Centax at all...oh well.

Default HongNor 336

I have asked HongNor Taiwan today if they sell the 336 clutch (wich is an optional clutch for NTC3 - not LD3) to ofna and if so what partnumber it has at ofna. I will let you know what they have to say.

nitro house sells the hong nor clutch too. this includes the engine mounts and the centratorque clutch (just like in niklas' pics). an alternative is to use the mugen centax clutch (LD3 users tried this too) but placed a few shims between the engine and mounts, this is when you use the hong nor engine mounts. the reason for using the mugen clutch is because its cheaper than the hong nor one (in the US that is..)

Does anybody know what the biggest cause for the NTC3 to keep stripping diff gears. This is a buddy of mines car and he must of went through 10 sets of gears in about a months time last year.
The car is pretty much stock, and is running a O.S. TR.12 Turbo. (black case) Thanks in advance.

There are many causes as to why the gear strips...in my case it was because I was using a Centax clutch and i think it was engaging too hard...causing the diff gears to go weaker and weaker and eventually failing.

Oversteering car with to little grip in the rear combined with a "Colin McRae" driving style overloading the rear gears... Could be wrongly shimed also.

Thanks for the help I'll have him check the shimming first seeing he's not running a centax clutch.
Could a 3 shoe clutch with the copper springs do the same thing?

I never had a stripped diff gear before even when running 3 clutch shoes with copper springs and Nova 5port engines. I have seen ppl stripping their diff gear due to improper shimming (just follow the manual), due to broken gearbox or improperly secured gearbox.
