Thumbs up

Check these out.. I have had great success with this brand and pricepoint
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Standard-Plug

Keep in mind you dont need big power to be fast if you racing at a club level..
I have lapped poor drivers with big motors! ... .. setup and being smooth is very important.... Have fun!
Just ask Spooky...

I would also add the Werks B5 .21 to the list of motors. they have great power and great milage. they are also easy to tune and fits your budget of $200

Congratulations Fernando from a Protofom Pf8 fan.

Hey Dale Epp, don't take the Pf8 away, just add some more of your great performing designs.......gt and gt2!

For 1966SS...i like axial motors for 'club' and major races. They are in a good price bracket and perform well. (well enough to take CLETE's trophy! sorry. ....i probably used up my remaining minutes on Clete's timetable of 'tolerance'...love ya man)

Thanks spooky, we hope to see you in March if not sooner here in PR. Fernando is a great racer in both on-road and off-road. He's a great guy always willing to help anyone out. March weather is always great, not too hot with less % of rain. So the 2012 World Championships is going to be Epic.

Unlike some people, big time congrats and props should go out to everyone who attended the very 1st GT Pre-Worlds event in the history of our categories. The race director & crew did an awesome job in making everyone feel at home and ran a very smooth show.

Just getting into the A Main was no cake walk and running with 12 cars in the Main was also great.
Everyone was respectful of each other and raced super clean...... as none of the “hacks” attended.

The 2012 Ipanema Sports GT World Championships is shaping up to be the greatest GT race ever, see ya in March!

Hello from France,

last week end, we raced the third round of the Rally Game/GT Challenge.

There's two class: nitro and BL.

Everybody run same tyres, probided the morning by the IModel/Hobbytech the tyre support!!

I won in my BL class.

And, after the main finals nitro and BL, we made a SuperFinal with the best 5 nitros against the best 5 BL.

I won this 6mn race by 12s over the second (nitro).
I also set the fastest lap of the day.
It's now the track record in Rally Game/GT (nitro or BL)!!!

Here's my car:
OFNA Ultra GTP2E + HobbyWing 150A/2250Kv sensored + Gens Ace 4S/5000/40C + Porsche Ofna + IModel Tyres + All SNR Graphite parts (total weight ready to win = 3770g)

Au revoir.

In the winter race
no one used the Corvette Body. There were Warriors, Protoform, Alphas and
some OFNAs.

Good looking car Romuald. How much is the total EUR? I thought you guys want to keep it inexpensive, still it is?
Or just the tires and bodies to limit speeds & cost. I'm slightly confused...
Or is the BL wave attracting more people now to the class?
Please advice.
Congrats for the win! Interesting to hear anyway and see your car.
BTW, how are the diffs keeping up? In GTP ultra they used to be pain in the nitro class like 5 years ago.

e: I checked some of the prices, not too bad! I like it. How much runtime you are getting with a charge ?

Hello MikaR,
the total cost is quiet expensive!!!
But, I started from nothing because I have no chassis or electronics...

Ultra GTP2E = 200$ / ultra GTP = 260$
Hobby Wing Combo= 185$ / Nova Rossi P5XLT+exhaust = 290$
Option parts = 280$ / 150$
LiPo sack, servo, connectors... = 120$ / starter+battry, glow, bottle, rx battery... = 150$
4 batteries = 310$ / fuel ????
Total: 1095$ / 850$ and the fuel!!!

Inexpensive is the Key word for our serie because you can win with a stock car and an engine of the year!!
Most of the competitors are running their old GT converted off-road with their old buggy engine over 20 liters...
Last winner (top french driver) in nitro class wants to prove that he can drove the Hobbytech STR8RG Ready to Run with the cheap 3 ports GO engine!!!
Everybody can win because with the low grip provided by the tyres, you don't need the best car or the best engine but the driving skill!!!

It was my pleasure to build a nice chassis and in nitro clas, there some Shepis MZ2 or crono SP9.

For sure, BL class is growing very very fast...

You're right, the GTP2 difs are old fashion, big and heavy... But no problem with them in GT/Rally game class. You're right for off-road application they arn"t the good choice!!!

If I want to compet against nitro cars, I have to put big power onto the controller and then the runtime is around 7mn (controler and battery are safe).
For a runtime of 10mn, I have to set my controler with safer settings (lowe punch, lower timing, lower end point) to protect my batteries from deep discharge...
For exemple, for a 7mn run, my best lap time is around 18s (like the best nitro cars) and for the 10mn run my lap time will be around 19s.
From what I tested, each minute of runtime is around 3/10s more/lap...

I hope you unserstand my explanation.

Au revoir.
