There are no set rules for GT racing, every track is different. Check with the club you want to race with. Most of them have adopted a $200.00 dollar limit rule.
If you want to race, budget for a transmission upgrade, yours will fail unfortunately. Even the "b" part # gears do not help.

Review the basic mod from the original source on the inferno GT proboards site,
http://infernogt.proboards.com/index...ay&thread=1111

then determine what you need for front and rear drive shafts, engine mounts, clutch and clutch bell.

Default GT2 - pro kit / GT3 - pure speculation

there is no fact - no information - just speculating

RTR is OK - but a pro kit would be nice. Or we can just get the Ipanema BlackHawk

I would think a pro kit would have:

1. Bulletproof tranny - or at least as good as 1/8 scale road cars.
2. ALL bearings - that means steering linkage and brakes too
3. Motor mounts like the GT2 kit - but no motor
4. No electronics
5. unpainted body or No body
6. CVDs - All 6 of them
7. 3 shoe clutch kit, clutch bell and a pinion set

For a $200 limit GT class, I would get the highest reving .21 I could when using the stock type transmission. Maybe even go back to the IGT1 46/43 spur gearing and go up to a 16/20 clutch gear.

The closer spur ratios last longer in track racing. The key is RPM management and shift point for the stock tranny to survive 30 minute "Mains".

The Ipanema Black Hawk SR Transmission seems to have no limitations on power management.

A few kits are headed to Richie at Brooklyn Hobbies early next week, more will be available by week's end.

Good luck at the races!

Default depends on the track

I think it really depends on the track -if you have a 140ft straight or 240ft straight - is it a wide open infield or do you have 20 turns/ are there any short straights that aren't all that short.

tight short twisty track - I would choose a torque/buggy motor.
Open top end track - a nice 21

I used to run an old beat up RB S5 in my Mugen MRX3 - had about 180ft straight and had to let off part way down the straight to let it live. (tried to not do that in traffic) Overall made better lap times - cause it KILLED in the infield.

Default Win on GT Class - Chile / Southamerica

Hi guys,

This note its just to let you know the results of the 6th stage of CACH GT Class Championship in Chile -Southamerica.

After a lot of testing on tires (6 brands, lot of compounds and models of each one), we used a new brand tire that for sure will take the market of GT Class due to the high performance and low wear characteristicas.

So, the results for this last weekend race was :

1st Place
Patricio "Pato" Concha (Tabushi on this forums)
OFNA DM ONE
GO Engines .21 3 Port
GO Engines 2072 pipe

2nd Place
Pablo Riveros
OFNA DM ONE
GO Engines .21 5 ports
Jammin JP-2 Pipe

3rd Place
Augusto Busholz
OFNA DM ONE
Novarossi P5-X
Novarossi Pipe

Here is the pic of the 1st and 2nd place cars, and the pic of the "team" that have been testing different brands of tires, and performed a 1st, 2nd and 5th place on this race (5th place, Mr. Lautaro Marini).

The info about the brand and models of the tires will be published very soon.

cya !!,

Pato Concha

Are there any other bodies that will fit the GT2 aside from the Kyosho brand?

rcdoktor2, I'm not aware of any. Current choices are McLaren , Corvette, Audi and late summer will be Aston Martin (again).

Pato, all cars DM 1 ?

MikaR,

Yes, 99% of our guys here race the DM ONE, its a tough contender !, people which tested DM SPEC and Kyosho GT2 didnt liked so far, so all people came back to DM ONE.

Our rulebook only ask for :

- Rubber Tires.
- Stock .28 OFNA engine or any .21
- Free on pipes
- Free on bodies

On engines, we have RB C6's, GO Engines on different models, OS's Speed and normal ones, Novarossi's, etc ... but all on offroad versiones, people who tested .21 onroad version engines, came back to offroad versiones due to the lack of torque of onroad ones.

cya !

Pat
