Just a week away! Keep those pre-regs comming... Looking through the entries, I see both of the new classes represented! 1/10 Masters and the 1/8 GT class.
Just a re-cap on those two,,, 1/10 Masters will RUN with 1/10 TC. It will be scored seperately for season points. There will be TQ awards for each event. 45 years min age.
The GT class is spelled out earlier and on the MWS site.
The DM1 will be allowed. Reports indicate that performance is on a par with the IGT and GTP. Hyper 1/7 as well. The thrust of this class is; FUN at a LOWER cost. It is important that ALL participants in this class keep those factors in mind. The rules are pretty loose and will be adjusted for next season. We need some time with these beasts on the track to see what works, what saves money, what costs more, etc. A couple of things that I am looking at for '09' are spec engines and tires. I could probably swing a pretty good deal with the manufacturer/distributers for the privilage of supplying the MWS. More on this at another time...
See you all in Cinci! Let's hope for good weather...

Does anyone have one of those overhead shots of the new layout at Cincinnati?

What is the traction like and tire wear?

By the way the track was awesome yesterday. Low 21 second laps. I'm sure we will be in the 20's laptimes this weekend. Hope to see a lot of new faces along with some old one's too.

from what I heard from the 8th scale guys, tire wear was very low but the traction was pretty good for a club race, it will be higher for the seris. As for 200mm I noticed about 2mm of wear after my 30 minute main.

I thought things went very well this weekend.
Traction was very good start to finish.
The timing and scoring worked without a hitch.
Two pit monitors were working.
The racing was very competitive and fast.
Tire wear was suprisingly low...I am not near the fastest guy out their but I ran the same tires through two qualifiers, short practice and 30 min main.
They started at 76mm in rear and finished around 72mm by the end of the mains. Lost about 2mm in 30min. Tire wear varies depending on setup and driving...but I think everyone should be very pleased.

We look forward to hosting the first race of the MWS '08 season. The club has worked very hard to cleanup and prepare the track for everyone and I think it has been very succesful.

Doug is right about low tire wear. You may be looking at around 4mm tire wear for the 30 minute main if you run 80 plus laps.

Thanks everyone!

I'm looking forward to this weekend....a little more now that I hear the track is so good.

Eli,

If I can go to Canada and get a free lunch can I come to Cincinnati and get a free lunch too?

I'm a little biased , with fast lap of the day, TQ and the 1/8th open win.. I can safely say I thought the Track was great yesterday!! Looks like the Cincy MWS will be a great event, and a FUN race.

I'd prefer to brag in public and gripe in private I can do a little too much of both!

Darin.... Careful on your choice of words. Eli is known for picking on those guys that write the race reports after winning too... (right Eli????joking)

Sounds like the track has improved in only one week. After speaking with a couple, it sounded like the track surface was very slick. After reading this on RCTECH and a couple phone calls to racers in Cincy, the TSRCAR club looks like they have went the extra effort to get the Cincy track back on the map as a great facility with great traction and low tire wear.

I'm already looking forward to coming down this weekend for the MWS race. Will the track be open today, Tuesday, and so on....????

Sounds like the track is in great condition again. I was a little worried after seeing the FLOODING pics on your site. You guys must have really been working hard to set in place the new layout AND get all that dirt / water off the track. Thanks for all your efforts. A couple of us from Evolution will be there for the MWS!!! Can't wait!!!
