Look great!! Nice and clean...
A couple of hints:
The exhaust gets caught up in the turbulence from under the body and coats the inside if the rear of the body with oil. I used a small silicone exhaust deflector and pointed it slightly down... keeps the rear much cleaner.
Also, I used the Gurney deflector at the rear. I think it gave just a bit more rear bite.
These tips are free and worth all you paid for them.
I have mine back together and ran it a little in the driveway. I hope that the weather stays nicer for a few days and I will go run it on an unprepped local track... just need wheel time... must have wheel time...

I just ran two tanks (75cc big tank) through the car in the parking lot at work. 46 degrees F... hands are cold... big smile on my face. This car is a blast... I also raised the front chassis as most of the aftermarket tires seem smaller in diameter or the Kyosho fronts wore down a bit and the chassis was bottoming out. It took a bigger pebble to hit... even in a unprepped parking lot. Cranking a big arc with the engine screaming in second gear.... Now to take it home and clean it up... yep... still smiling....

Any advice breaking-in the engine ? How many tanks, 2-3 ? I'm planning to use 16% nitro. Needles are ok from the factory ?
How about the tranny - it is finger type, it is durable ? I can see the pin inside the 2nd gear is placed well on the outer side (no plastic there).

Break in was a long time ago... I think a couple of tanks worked fine. I also remember that when leaned this engine didn't like much over 200F (Can't do the math in my head for C). I think the blue head helps a little... slightly bigger. I ran 30% in it from my 1/10th sedan and 1/8th pan car. I intend to run 20% this season from my GT.... So the 16% should keep temps down... good choice. As I remember the factory needle settings were a little fat... but probably fine for initial break in.
The tranny works fine. As with any two speed the engine needs to rev (not fat... leaner) to get the best performance in shifting. Pretty durable. I had a bearing go out in the clutch bell and toasted both spurs... I learned a new phrase..... Bearing maintenance....
We've had snow off and on recently but the parking lot... most of the ground is bare of snow... All I need is dry road. Yeah.... It's not racing... but still brings a grin to this old face....

There was some chatter earlier in this thread about wedging in a .12... I think a .21 would eat up the drivetrain ..... when idling....

I just picked up the remaining inventory of Twister Tires from a US distributor, so tires will not be an issue. Already have a race with 1/12th electric pan cars planned for the 17th of this month. Some local racers talked to Miller Motorsports Raceway and they are sectioning off a part of their parking lot for us.
I will try to get some video/photos posted of the event.....

...oh yeah... I thought I would go through rears quickly like my MRX4R (now X).. but the fronts wear more quickly. The fronts have less foam and seem to wear to the point of chassis dragging fairly quickly. I raised the chassis front about 3mm with an unauthorized modification of the chassis and front blocks. I haven't had a chance to race this setting. May give the car a push... But the front doesn't drag..
