When are we going to see some actual pictures of the chassis?
This cloak and dagger stuff is getting a little long in the tooth
It's had its maiden Race meet win!
They should make with the photos already!! ;) :D

Barry was very cool. He told us we could look at it, ask all the questions we wanted, touch, feel, hold, etc... but just don't take any pictures. It is a very nice looking car. I'm sure you will see all you want of the car in a few weeks.

Did the car look to have any significant advantage on the track compared with the Mugens, Serpents and Kyosho's or was it down to Barry on the sticks? :)

The build of the car was fantastic, the multi engine mount gimmick is trick, its on par with everything out there that's competitive, period. They started out with the "kit stock" set up and went from there. Nice ride and just like everything else driven by a skilled profesional its a WINNER. Cant wait for the touring a at the winter nats.

Thanks MugenDrew,

What's the idea of the multi engine mount?

I didn't see anything significant but I'm sure Barry will only get faster with more time driving the car. He just got the car (the only one in the US he said) and Saturday was the first time he drove it. It didn't come with a one-way so he may have done better with that. Even the engine had not been run before. It is a very nice looking car... like a Mugen, Kyosho, Serpent, XRay EP blend. The best of all worlds. :D

Check the results of the 1/10 A main and you will see that the lap times were good and he was very consistant. If they want to truely know how good the car is he should have switched cars with me and see how I finished. That would be the real test for the car and not the driver.

Pinions and spurs are diameter compensated, the engine mounts are "cut in half" horizontaly. The brand of engine has its own specific upper mounts that the engine bolts to and the lower part of the mount bolts in the car.

Sounds similar to "universal" engine mounts that 1/8 offroad buggies use

Thanks for the info guys, any other snippets you can share; i.e: was it running a 3 or 4mm chassis and from the original images it looks like a sealed receiver box and the standard XRay plastic shock bodies?

Cheers, Diesel Racer :)

It has the standard plastic shock bodies. There was no receiver box on Barry's car. The kit may come with one but I didn't see it on his car. I didn't take note of the chassis thickness. I'm not sure that the car we saw at the Fort will be exactly the same car that eventually hits the market. I got the impression that the car is still in R & D. I don't know that for sure... it's just my opinion.

The pullies on the car also were nice and thick. Not like the mugen ones, when the pipe gets hit, it ruins the pully, they had a nice and thick shield on the pully, as to prolong belt life and keep them from warping. Nice trick with that. This car is built to be tough and keep you on the track.

always wondered why wouldn't do the universal engine mounto similar to
the buggys where taking out the engine and putting it back needs no readjustments on the gear mesh.
nice to see a new addition in the nitro scene, and of course the winternats should be a very mix up of the best of the best on both classes

happy racing!

thats seems like a nice feature.....but I unbolt the engine from the top of the mount anyway...why use a split mount?..
