My advice to you:
Go to Floyd as much as you can, those boards are very unforgiving.
I got a lot better in the beginning by going on the track when there were people on the track. It's not only about going around the track fast in the beginning, it's about getting out of the way of the faster guy.
When there's people on the track, you can follow them and their lines. You may not be able to keep up, but it helps.
Setup the car box settings and just drive!!! Have fun

Hey guys, I bought a used NT1R a couple months ago and it came with a strange engine mount. It doesn't have Xray etched into it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of engine mount it is. It is quite heavy. *edit* Looks like its a Capricorn engine mount, which is purported to work with the NT1, but my pinions need to move about 4-5mm farther away from the centre of the car to engage the spurs fully.

Sorry about the sideways photos. For some reason they both rotated 90 degrees when I attached them. Never had that happen before.

**Update: Turns out I installed my new spur gears wrong...15 years of doing RCs can't replace reading the manual haha.

Oh, one more question: In regards to gear mesh on the NT1, the manual states you must set the mesh so the gears don't bind, but there is no mesh adjustment on the car. From the drawings I can't see any adjustment possibility on the mount itself. I also cannot find a gear chart indicating compatible spur/pinion combos. I picked up a 15/60 and 20/55 gearset because the local track here is tiny.

That's a Kyosho RRR engine mount you have there :D

Hello people

I have a 11 Xray nt1 with a RB speed 12 engine

firstly i have fitted an OS P3 hot plug , is this correct ??

Also what sorted of temperature should i be aiming for on the engine,

It does puff out nice blue smoke but temp climbs to about 112 deg C. (bear in mind i was only messing about in a small area, so i am guessing the engine was prob not getting sufficient cooling !

Any advise would be great !

I've been using OS no. 6 or 7 plugs in a novarossi keep on. I usually run around 250*F. When tuning nitro engines, make sure your clutch is set correctly or you will never get a good tuned motor. I say this because that has been my focus for a little while now.

OS plug comes with RP6 (hottest) for on road engine, P3 (hottest) for off road engine.
Correct me if I m wrong.

Wondering if anyone can help me..

My 2-speed in my NT-1 2014 is acting weird. It seems when I first start driving it, it will not go into 2nd gear without me blipping the throttle a few times. But with that being said...once the car has warmed up it seems to work fine. Is this normal? I have tried adjusting the 2 speed clutch and all it does is makes it either shift too soon or not at all.

Anyone know what I need to do? Thanks!

Could be just a engine tune on the rich side? lean it a little on the lsn.

Its not engine related because when I first start out I am fully winding out 1 st gear easily and its not shifting. After 1 minute or so its fine....

Like the engine everything needs to warm up to operate consistently, i.e. clutch/2-speed/brakes, but normally a lap will have the 2-speed function correctly. I'd try tightening the gap set screws slightly.
