That is a common problem for that car. I have heard that most people use the kyosho spings in the 2 speed shoe. That will fix it.

What spring are you talking ? 2speed ? or Centax ?

true, i found the mugen super hard spring has an internal diameter slightly too small, the orion crf spring fits better.

the msr spring sometimes needs to be shaved just a bit to clear the treads. theres a fews team drivers who use the msr spring, paulie is one of them, but i beleive what ever you have will work.

There isn't really a benefit except for the fact that aluminum shocks are more durable. The stock shocks are good, it's just that many don't know how to build them the right way, or how to use the adjustable pistons correctly. They are actually a lot more simpler than they sound, so I suggest first using what comes in the kit and asking any questions along while building;)

08' comes with front CVD's, whereas the 07' does not.

lol funny that:sneaky: my max SL3 MF would shift right into second with the stock gearbox springs...i had to use mtx4 springs:lol:

mugen 2 speed springs, crf clutch spring, kyosho flyweights...:D:sneaky::o

at least it handles better than my mugen, i'll give it that:sneaky:

I had one of the first production kits with the same type of problem.

Until I found out that I had to re-adjust the two speed shoe set screws to just the right amount of space in between both shoes and the outer aluminum housing.

Once I learned how to set that right, the original XRAY 2 speed springs have always worked consistently and with longevity. ;)

Wow, Happy to see I'm not the ony one considering a taller 2nd gear.
Running the Picco based motors at Kissim. Fl. KIlls me . these motors don't like to rev. super high, like the Nova Based motors.

When you come down for the next race, I have one motor that may have you reconsider that statement. ;) I have to agree however, using the correct blend of fuel is very important. Learnt this from experience.

MHarrison 02-25-2008 01:10 PM

I doubt it. I have tried a few fuels with this motor. But let me see what you got.

It really bites me more at 301 Raceway, even with the higher revving SL3. Once the tires get below 57mm, the motor peaks out too early down the straight.

Please make sure you vote on the XRAY forum thread.

HQ pays attention to polls like this concerning optional parts when the XRAY community shows enough interest.
