I am getting so frustrated with stripping my second gears, it's starting to get ridiculous. I tighten the screws down so hard, but it still doesn't help. I have a perfect mesh according to everyone, but they still strip. it seems as though my last option is to try longer screws.

I've seen, and done for that matter,where people have tighten the bottom screws and forget to tighten the top screws that hold the motor to the mount.

Check your clutch bell and 2-speed shaft bearings. Make sure your 2-speed shaft isn't bent. Are the clutch bell gears worn at all? Have you replaced them since you got the car? How are your engine front/rear bearing? |

I would check these for your case : Remove first spur gear to see the gear mesh on the second spur gear. Are you sure you have proper gear mesh after removing the first spur gear now ? ---> 1T bigger on the 2nd pinion gear might help. Make sure the clutchbell doesn't wobble ---> check clutchbell's bearings and thrust bearing. It's time to replace rear bulkheads with new one. |
Thanks, I'll give it a try.

hi guys,
can someone give me a run down on the difference between running a 25T and 26T side pulley? what effect does it have on overall ratio? should you use 25T or 26T for long tracks? what else does it effect? |

26T = 1 : 1 = front and rear rotate equally
25T = 1.04 : 1 = front tires rotate 4% faster than rear. |
If you're running Rubber Tyres use 26T whatever the size of track.

25t = less drive to the front, therefore more taily feel. 26t = more front drive so a more planted feel.

Go with 25T. So with 25T you would need smaller tires in front to have the same rollout on all tires. I use 2mm smaller tires in front with 25T. I think 26T is for ruber tires, since they don't wear... in general the rear tires wear faster and if you end up with smaller rear tires the car goes really weird... :) |
