It is. V3 red is 4.7lb, and purple rear is 3.5lb

Meant to ask before, I usually run pink fronts and pink/red rear

Do you use stiffer springs in the back to have the car turn more?

What sway bars F/R?

Default 48tt

New to the SRX8 platform. I’m coming from an X-RAY. My setup is the exact same referring to the motor (werks B6 and 2135 pipe). With the Xray it had more bottom with the same motor, clutch(4 alum), Springs (2-.90 2-.95) and 46t center spur. After speaking to an EX serpent driver he mentioned that he had issues getting more bottom and installed a 48t center spur and that did the trick. Anyone else try that? Results? Thanks

What size pinion are you running? I'm running 13/46 with 4 carbon shoes/0.9 springs. With my Maxy's motor it had so much power at the bottom and top, with my Nova Fusion X5LC it didn't have the same bottom end power but the motor is not nearly as fresh, and the tires were getting worn down, so I think it was partially a traction issue.

The 48t spur will definitely give you more acceleration and sense of bottom end power but at the expense of top speed.

Anyone using carbon shock towers, or are they too fragile? Looking for items to help reduce the overall weight of the car.

I don't have a Serpent but I've used carbon fiber towers on a buggy and I wasn't a fan. They're too fragile and I went through several rear towers in one season.

I ran the carbon towers the entire time I ran the SRX8 line of buggies (~4years) and never had an issue with the rear towers. I did crack a few front towers, but those were head on head crashes with another car on the front straight... which have also bent aluminum towers. I think the carbon towers are plenty strong on this car.

Carbon tower work good. They have some 'flex' to it as well. I use them in the rear mainly. Also if the aluminum tower is bent you won't know unless you take it apart and lay it flat on a table. At least with a carbon tower, if it breaks it breaks. Only issue is cost.

I have been running rear carbon towera on both SRX8 nitro and ebuggy and no issues after 3 years of many crashes.

I have a set of the caster blocks from the Pro kit, that I'm thinking of putting on my evo. Is this seen as an upgrade in performance, or more of a tuning option? I read something saying it smooths out steering and makes the car more neutral and is best for higher grip applications. Curious what most of you guys run, the evo caster setup, or the newer KPI Pro setup?

If you end up using the KPI caster blocks you have to use the KPI front hubs as well. Just an FYI

As of now I have my ebuggy with 19° Evo caster and the Pro nitro buggy with all the Pro stuff. Have not tried using EVO caster block on the Pro.

yes I have both the caster blocks and hubs for KPI. Both my evo set and pro set are 17.

I went from the 19 deg Evo blocks to the 17 deg KPI blocks and I thought the steering feel was similar, maybe a little more steering with the 17 deg kpi blocks. This was on low and medium bite tracks though.

Why wont you use Serpent caster blocks? I ordered the 17 and 19 for my SRX8T.
