Guys that were having that problem ended up glueing the inserts into place, rather than using screws. Also with colder temps coming, you may not need such a stiff arm.

If you don't mind posting a picture that would be great.

Looking at buying a used SRX8 evo from a local racer. I mainly am looking to buy for practice and running at the track, are the Pro upgrades more performance oriented or are their items I should look into for durability and ease of driving?

The pro parts are mostly upgrades. The caster blocks and spindles are for performance, but I do t think it's anything noticable for some practice days.

The pro parts are designed to make the car easier to drive on really high bite tracks. I actually run mostly evo parts on the usual low to medium bite tracks I run on mostly. Depending on your tracks surface, the pro parts may not provide the performance you want.

Mounting the engine and getting the linkages setup for the motor. Is it normal to have the carb at such an angle? It’s the only way I could get it to fit and have the carb I line with the servo arm.

Yup that's how you gotta do it. I my thing I see to fix may be the sub trim to where the brake side of the horn is in line with the servo. Also could be the angle of there photo

Thanks... I think I need to adjust the sub trim as well. Need to fine tune the throttle and steering endpoints as well.

Those plastics arms will strip soon. Be ready to get some aluminum ones. I've never had a plastic arm last on my serpent kits.

My steering horn is aluminum. I'll wait to see what breaks first and then replace parts as I go. This is my first 1/8th scale and I'll just be practicing for the remainder of the warmer fall days we have as the local race club is done with outdoor racing till next season.

Any recommendations on droop settings? I noticed my rear left and right droop is not the same. Just looking for a good starting point.

The standard set up is right where we've been. 106mm front 128 rear. Measure with calipers from center to center on the screws with chassis on a car stand.

I know the RTR 811b Can be upgraded to pro kit. But I’m confused as to whether they meant the 811 pro kit from a few years ago or if it carries onto the current srx-8/evo/pro. Basically can I use the info from this thread to upgrade the RTR version?

the 811 does not carry to the srx8 car. a few parts but not enough to justify..
