The only other different I found is the rebate on the pillow ball hole

The material feels the same in hand. But that really means nothing. I hope they are stronger

Yesterday I started building de new Mugen Seiki MBX7T 1:8 truggy. Comparing it to the MBX6T(R) these a the most noticable changes.

- diffs went back to straight cut gears.
- arms have some slight changes
- hingepins changes for quicker setup changes
- metal shocktower instead of carbon
- chassis layout changed, the weight is all to the front
- chassis length has changed

Thanks to my sponsors and material suppliers:
- RC Speedhouse as LHS
- Mugen Seiki MBX7T
- Alpha Plus A852 / A830 Dragon engines
- Alpha Plus 2081 / 2090 / 2107 Ryan Lutz exhausts
- Savox HV coreless servo
- Spektrum DX3R Pro
- Nitrolux 25% fuel
- Ultimate racing oil

The box:

The contents:

All bags, nicely numbered:

Diff parts:

Diffs built:

Front gearbox parts:

Gearbox put together along with shocktower:

Front arms on the gearbox:

Servo saver and hub parts:

Front put together:

Additional information:
- Front diff oil 10.000
- 2 shims in the diff on both sides
- Diff was not too smooth so i loosened the screws of the gearbox slightly giving addiontal play
- Front arms feel a lot tougher compared to MBX6T(R), I needed a lot more force to put in the screws
- Servo saver at 6mm

I will post addiontal photo's of the rear and center soon.

had the same "issues" with the dif gear boxes, if i tightened the screws to hard the diff wouldnt move atall
oh yea and i managed to break one of those "bubble-head" scews that hold the turnbuckles ;[

I'm thinking 5 mins of running should loosen the diffs in the housings with any luck. Just wondering, why have you used 2 shims each side of the diff? The shimming is designed to keep the ring gear meshed properly against the pinion gear, by shimming both sides you aren't achieving anything, except putting extra pressure on the housings and bearings.

Running only 1 shim would give too much play to the diff.
Running 2 shims on the gear side was no option.
Running 1 shims on each side felt best to me.

In the meantime I built the rear (wil post an update today). In the rear I only needed 1 shim on the gearside.

I must say both diffs are not as sweet as I want them to be. But I figured first running it and testing if they loosen up. Considering my other Mugen cars I have built this will happen and it will be sweet as butter.

For your information, in the Netherlands we mostly run very high grip astroturf tracks, so having axial play in the diff is no option for us

On the engine mount do you have to trim off the right aft corner of the engine mount to fit like on the buggy?

Nope there is no need for that. Yesterday my first race with the MBX7T, qualified directly into 1/2 finals. However during that finale I lost my wheel (stupid mistake), losing too much time it was not possible to recover. However on track cornering al other cars looked slow, chasing someone into the corner I had to take off some pace avoiding collissions.

Hoping for a little more luck next race.
