I am looking for a 7tr if anyone has one they want to part with.
We ran a friend's truck at the Nationals warmup race and loved it! We ran the HTD diffs 12/12/6 and the 7.25 and 7.75 springs. Rear hubs in the lower hole and spaced back. Front arms forward, rear arms back. Camber links long and on the lower hole on the tower. The rest of the set up was the kit setup. Dialed!

New to Mugen, bought a 2nd hand MBX7TR. The guy I bought it from claims 10 races, and both bevel gears are shot. Is it a commen problem with MUGEN, soft bevel gears. I have a TLR 3.0 TE, and running it for a year now, with no problems at all???

With any truck the shimming of the ring and pinion will have an effect on the life of the gears, but the Mugen ring and pinion is very durable in my opinion.

Trucks run a tighter shim between ring and pinion.. If you do it wrong, it won't last no matter who makes it. The smaller pinions make it more important for correct shimming due to the smaller gear contact patch.

If you hear the truck clicking after landing or just on the gas, it's to loose.

yes. the 46T f/r are too big for the diff housing and rubs on it and not where you are supposed to dremel away. The sun gear touches the entire diff case front and back causing major drag brake the whole time. I need to get a lathe and cut 1/2mm off the circumference but imo, you do not need them with truggy. save your money unlike i did

Can you please send me photos of this? I think there may be a problem because this is not normal with the HT diffs. Thank you. [email protected]

I only had to shave around the ring gear at a screw and another minor area and have zero drag... hopefully you and Adam have already sorted this

Ive been having some trouble with an MBX7TR and a MBX6T, we cant seem to get them to stop eating thru clutches. Tried diferent gearing, always fresh built diffs with stock silicone oils, fresh bearings and gears look good.

Anyone had this trouble before?

Is the metal spur of the center diff in good shape? If the spur isn't in good shape you'll wear out clutch bearings / clutch bells quick.

If the spur is worn bad it will be hard on the clutch bell and bearings. The Flash point engine mout will extend bearing and gear life because it reduces flex.

Check for excessive slop between bearing and the crank. I had a picco motor blow a bearing out in a main. RAN the whole race and didn't flame out, but it wore grooves in the crank. Tore through bearings left and right.

Also check to see that your engine is mounted straight. Look at the flywheel and make sure it is running parallel with the flywheel hole on the chassis and not crooked.

Anyone able to measure the wheel base of this truck from front axle center line to the rear axle center line for me? It would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the Arrma Typhon 17mm wheel hub will fit the 7tr? I'm wanting to find some red hubs.
