Thanks for the feedback guys. We'll keep an eye out on this issue and see if we can make them better. There is a track here in the states with big flat landings and some racers there have had a couple issues. For most conditions however, we haven't seen any issues since the new gears came out.

The new spur gears are a lot better than the old wear wise just seems to be a problem strength wise under load and flex combined.

Hello everyone, thank you for your patience while we look into this. Can you guys provide info on the agama spur or other spur gears you are using? Specifically interested in the thickness.

In the mean time we think the issue is due to chassis flex under hard flat landing or casing a jump. Please be sure to set your mesh as close as possible without the teeth actually bottoming out in the opposing gear. When setting the mesh this close with new spur and bell the mesh will sound noisy. Please run it for one tank and the gears will break in and be quiet. To this point I have not broken a single spur when setting the mesh as I mentioned.

My suggestion would be to buy a serpent,and agama Spurs and make a copy to fit the truggy.That would solve the problem.I have bought a serpent complete diff and shimmed it to fit,problem solved for me.i have expressed this to you guys at Tenko the times I have talked with you about problems.( Spurs and rear diff case were the bearing fits sloppy.you can move pinion up and down with all new parts. ) Just my two cents!

I asked if an alternate flywheel and clutch setup would work on this truggy and someone said they were using the m2c 34 mm four shoe clutch. Also wondering if u can use a normal bell such as mugen or agama on this truggy or if u had to use the tekno specific flywheel? Nothing wrong with the tekno setup I just have other truggies and I move my engines around a lot and would like to just swap engines without having to tear the clutch and clutch bell off to put on the tekno

The only way you can use another clutch bell is to shim the flywheel, as the tekno clutch bell is a lot longer than a standard clutch bell, in my experience the mugen clutch bell probably gets the closest length as it is long as well but still needs to be shimmed, just not as much as say a kyosho bell, either way if your moving your engines around you will still have to dismantle it in order to shim it to get the required mesh.

I use the m2c clutch and on my backup engine I have the Werks clutch. I use the Tekno clutch bell or Serpent clutch bell.
I have just fitted the vented Serpent clutch bell to try out. But to use a standard size clutch bell you'd have to shim the flywheel too far forward.

I myself have held off running the tekno centre diff and clutch bell set on my 3 tekno cars but before Christmas i purchased a number of revised centre spurs and fitted one to the truggy and headed to the track, three tanks in to the practice session i to landed on the flat over shooting a jump and was on power trying to pull myself around a 180 turn and that sound every rc racer hates to hear started to ring out, yep you bet teeth missing from the revised spur gear ( $42 AUD lesson learned )



So for me its back in with the complete shimmed xray centre diff set up on my tekno cars that worked perfect for the 4 day state titles, club day after club day, I have three stock spur gears that came with each kit and another 2 revised spur gears sitting in my pit bag if any one needs spares at any events across Australia.

Its a shame as the truggy is the best i have ever driven and im not a fan of using non factory parts on the cars im driving but until this proplem is solved completely where people can just run the product with any issues at all these parts will just sit idle in the spare parts bags.
