If you de-burr the sides of those shoes you can easily get another race or two out of them.

Use this video to measure your clutch life.

so besides the internal diff shims, is there any other areas of concern on this buggy I know the fuel tank issue has been resolved
k

I haven't seen a diff issues yet. I plan to tear the car down before my next series race on the 19th so I will take a good look at it.

The bumper will wear since it is also a skid plate so keep a spare. Other than that just the usual stuff. The diff washers would be good to replace every few races as they aren't hardened and do wear. I believe Tekno is researching a replacement for these but don't quote me on it.

New harder diff washers are in the works for sure. I can't comment on when they'll arrive. I've been rebuilding my diffs with new washers and o-rings every couple race weekends. It isn't totally necessary to do but it gives me peace of mind. :)

I have a few extra updated fuel tanks but I'm still using the original with the direct fuel line clunk mod. I've had no durability issues with the stock tank at all.

The Tekno cars are very durable and perform well out of the box so I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if you're thinking about it.

No reason not to continue running the old tank for club races, but swap it out if you go to a track with harsher landings. I never had any problems at FRC, but went through them at PNB and Wolfpack.

Hey, Tekno, seems AE 8th scale program is closing, and RM is goin' to TLR. Do you have any plans getting second Ryan into the team?=))

AE 8th scale program closing? That's news to us. We're always looking for a world class driver. When we find the right fit we'll let everyone know, but nothing on the horizon just yet.

It's just some gossip around AE's 8th scale program, mainly because of failed new RC8 prototype and Alton leaving Associated.
Good to hear that you have ambition to play in top league and only waiting for a talented pilot to hire. Many tekno owners will be happy to see T logo in the top race results. Hope we all gonna see this soon

new body from FTW is in stock at ftw site. I personally still prefer the look of the xb9 body.

offroad dude 07-02-2014 08:56 AM

That's going to have to grown on me because I'm not feeling that body at all..U.G.L.Y.......

The FTW body actually looks really good. Just needs to be painted.

Hoese37 07-02-2014 09:25 AM

It does look much better with paint. The only part I don't like about it is the back slope of the cab. It just makes it look bulky.

Torian4000 07-02-2014 12:02 PM

I prefer the stock body but it's great to have another option. :)
