Default Great Day

Got some good testing in today. It was about 75 Degrees out. I have the blue Csi pistons I started with Losi 45F 37.5R last week but that was to soft. Today I started with 55AE F and 50AE rear. Car was good but a little to thick on the front. I put 50AE in the front and it was really good. I also messed with ride hight. This car seems to respond well to ride hight changes. I started with 30mm R AND 29M F. I found it better with 27M rear and 26F. I was at Rev. in socal and when its dry its dusty and slippery. My son who is 10 drove the car for most of the day. As I am trying to get him a really easy setup to drive.

Thank You
Brian
the 6 post is 41.5 or so long...i broke one on my 6 and i don't want to pay $15 a set when i just need one...so i thought of the 7 ones that only cost $9 a set

so do you guys think the 7 posts would work or not?

I would think not. The 7 posts being over a mm shorter would pull the front upper plate down. Maybe if you added a 1.2mm washer to the top.
I you've broke one and get a set, then you'll have a spare if you break another. I would think the whole steering system would operate easier, smoother, and be better for the servo with the correct parts.

Cheers
Brian

Chads setup is from Hot Rod, it's great starting point. Hole shots are the go to tires most of the time since the track is run wet. M4's or M3's. New track just went in today so it will be bit loose for about a week.

Finally done, only changes from stock on the build were AE 45F 40R, Mugen 1.2 x 8 pistons, Black 9.0F 10.75 R Springs, new rear hubs in bottom hole.
Got to go out and put about 45 min's or so on the car today and WOW!!!! Already SO MUCH BETTER than my older Losi 2.0, I absolutely LOVE this car!!!

Finally got some good testing time on my 7 today, was impressive how much the rear end grip came on, the car has now done about 2.5ltrs. Coming from a Xray this car is awesome to say the least, this thing is fast but easy to drive and can push it but still be consistent, everyone talks about corner speed with this car, it is crazy how good it holds its speed. And the opposite to Xray with steering, it has truck loads, actually had to take some out.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes at its first big meet this weekend.

Well done Mugen.........

Drove this weekend on astroturf. When grip was high, black springs sucked... Silver springs was great! When it rains, blacks are better and traction are very low. Car is tailhappy when very slippery, but when grip are good car is perfect.

I just put in a less responsive engine when slippery and it was easy to control the rear end, even tough it slides. I did not get my underdrive parts so i was not able to to test with that.

See the buggy is a dream vs the mbx6 or 6r.

I'm so much faster than I was with my 6R. Like 2 or 3 sec faster I'm able to stay consistent lap after lap within 1 sec and even if i crash I'm able to recover asap

I need to find the new rear PLASTIC HUBS anyone know where I can order some? I just can't see why i need the Alum $80 ones.

Thank you

A couple comments/concerns about the build. I was surprised at how many areas of the manual did not say to put locktite like the bottom of motor mounts (i did), the bottom and top of servo saver post, the shock stand offs and several other metal to metal situations. Are you guys putting locktite on servo saver post??? I think I only put a VERY small amount on the bottom, and one of those screws came out when I ran it yesterday. Also, how about the stand offs?

What about the links from the ackerman to the knuckles, those little non pop things I REALLY like, but do you wrench them down really tight or do you put locktite?

The build was fantastic!!! everything went together great, the ONLY thing I am not a fan of is all the plastic coming on the trees and NEVER popping off right especially the heavier things like diff cases, tray, ect... I probably spent a extra 1.5 hours cutting the tabs and then sanding lightly with a dremal to get a nice flat plush surface but thats not a complaint just a observation. I love the car and the build

I put loctite on all metal to metal screws with the exception of the shock standoffs, since you have the lock nut going on after the shock.

I never use loctite on Mugen exept for the setscrew for the center driveshaft pin.
