...also is the green grease similar to green slime good for sealing shock/carb/diff orings?

Yes the green grease works good on shock o-rings.

The VP-Pro P3 is not the exact same as the OS P3 but works good.

Default Tire testing

Managed to do some testing today at one of my local tracks. It is a large indoor track with a hard packed surface that was dry for my test. The track has a ton of traction when wet and can be a hair loose when dry but the lap times remain fairly close. Even though it is indoor the temps were still a little cold...i would guess high fifties in the track area.

I tested the following...

Super soft strikers
Super soft blades
Ultra flex gripz

Unfortunately I did not have any turbo tax glued up..really wanted to try them.

Ran a tank on a set of worn soft strikers to start the day. These were not very good. Loose and a little push in the corners.

Gripz - car was instantly locked in. Steering was good, better than worn strikers but not as good as new as strikers. Very easy to drive on these. Definitely a long main tire. From the looks of them they should last a while as well.

Blades - overall these were my least favorite. Decent forward bite but side bite was not good. Did not feel comfortable at all with these.

Strikers - these provided the most steering but they were also a tad looser than the
Gripz. Definitely felt faster on these but not as consistent as gripz.

I will definitely be testing some turbo tax in the near future and will provide an update when I do. I will also be testing these three tires outdoor in the next week or so.

I have a big race coming up at this track and as of right now I will be using strikers for my qualifiers and most likely switching to the grips for the main.

I can honestly say I was surprised by these results...I picked up a set of grips just so that I could eliminate them as a possible tire choice and they turned out to be a winner.

Turbo Trax would most likely be the best tire for your indoor track. I use them about 90% of the time at all tracks in FL. Perfect for bumps and the best steering/corner speed.

Blades do not have much traction but last the longest for mains where wear is high. Only use on high bite tracks.

Gripz are an awesome tire but have never taken off for some reason. They have an unbelievable amount of steering and traction when the track is not good. They make FL tracks feel like they are grooved up even when they are not. I use these sometimes in the morning before the traction comes up.

Strikers are my new favorite tire. They feel like Turbo Trax but slightly less grip. Perfect for long A-mains and when the track has high wear or too much traction that causes Turbo Trax to be twitchy. These smooth out the steering and make the car much more predictable and easier to drive. I use Strikers a lot now in practice and main events.

Forgot Axman. I like them on bumpy/loamy tracks but many like them on blue groove because they don't traction roll and allow the car to slide through the turns as they have little side bite but a ton of forward traction.

I figured the turbo trax would work well there I just ran out of time gluing up tires. Sounds like they will be the perfect tire if they have more grip than the strikers. Heres a pic of my new lid. Going with some new colors for 2013

For the mentioned surface, Turbo Trax is where it's at. Pretty much use nothing but Hot Bodies Megabites and VP-Pro Turbo trax. Gonna try a set of Strikers soon.

I've never used Vp-Pros but after seeing what racers do at my track with them i want to try them. They always carry strikers on them and there badfast! Guess i'll be testing some sure enough before the Venom race

Ok new to the team here and I need to update my sig but anyway the Striker on the X3 Sabre works damn good and were very consistant, I did some changes to my car to work with the Striker at Revelation and managed high 31 second laps as the Striker worked when I continued to do changes. They have a solid sidewall for less roll but the tread stays planted so the pins are working and digging in, into the corner its very stable and as the car gets to the middle of the corner the steering shapens more then you can powerout of a corner with good acceleration with slide tail slide. At Rev traction tends to go in certain sections and the Strikers got a little loose but were very predictable. If you wanted the steering you just got off the throttle a little but if you wanted bite you just grab the gas and it my pushed just a tad but the traction was there. There's one jump when you land you got to get turning and the rear would tail slide when you got on the gas, Strickers no just landed it and shot to the next jump as its a round-a-bout double. I like those Strikes, I put down several runs in the sun wet and dry and the tires still look good as Rev tends to angle-edge out tires these have it also but no by much. I marked my tires when I cleaned them so they got no tire rotation to even out the wear, I wanted to see how far they were going to edge-out at the end of the day. A full day of practice from 11am to 5pm and I know I put down at least 12 to 14 runs for the day.

Strikes are pretty good. Thanks VP-Pro this will be my tire for the DNC

Thank you for that write up. I had a chance to try the strikers here at Fear Farm and they hook up nice. I would also consider picking up some turbo trax for DNC. When it grooves up the smaller pin will be choice. Honestly, the smaller pin is great even when its not grooved.

Just want to put an honest good word out for VP. Lately our team has been trying various products such as clutchbells and exhaust/pipe gaskets and I have to say great product and great prices. Our entire team also runs vp fuel as well. Also a great product and easy on the engine internals. Keep the great work and engineering up! Looking forward to a 2013 race season full of vp product. Have a great day!
