Bullet proofing everything even if I drive an xray I still take out button screws and replace with cap heads and use sink screws with sink washers to renforce impact zone etc.
Last but not least am very fussy in particular with the throttle and steering horns everything has to be bang dead 90 degrees to everything from brake leaver to brake pads being shimmed to 0.5 fornt and back etc everything dialed down to caliper measurements sad but true it comes as second nature when you fly rc helicopters your tend to be very meticulous with the other rc stuff.
Anal enough for ya I hope....

Yep everything, if your not going to do it properly then why do it at all, why make more problems for yourself when you can take your time & get it right from the start.

+1 on BULLETPROOFING!
A particular pet peeve of mine are hinge pins that aren't captured (i.e. on the Hot Bodies D8 inner front, and inner and outer rear; Kyosho MP9 -- those captured only by a screw and washer). I replace these with hinge pins of a similar length even from another brand, or a long screw. I find that captured hinges strengthen the arms as compared to stock.

If it ain't clean I don't want to touch it. LOL.
Seriously though,
Diffs and shocks the most. Don't want leaks if I can help it. Everything else I can work with for the most part. After that, balancing the tires. If they ain't right, they don't get run until they are. Even if that means balancing them two or three times to get it right 100%.

it has to be right, i dont feel comfortable till its right! ive had clutch failures ruin my day before

I hate to see 10 different sizes screws while with a good design it is possible to use only 2 or 3....
