look like the front sway bar is not a need on offroad buggy, what about the rear.. what else do you think is no need.. the fuel filter, downtravel limit screw on arm, fuel splash guard..??? i've thrown away all this

LOL, take the engine out, it's not needed...

I kept everything else except the front sway bars... They're used to tune the suspension. If you remove it you'll probably have to reinstall them on a wet track.

wouldn't a front sway bar give you more traction?

nope... a sway bar takes out chassis roll which is what gives you traction in the first place.

I'll be getting a new X-1 CR pro, and racing it on a new track, right now it's hard packed with loose rubble sections and kinda bumpy (for my GT at least....LOL) Can anyone give me a decent set-up to start with or should I go with the factory one and tune from there??? Also what for clutch set-up should I use cause I see alot of talk about it as of late...

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I don't get much time on-line to read thru the entire thread.....

BTW: this will be my first 1/8th kit to build, I've built probably 30-40 kits so I'm not worried...... but what else do I need besides the obvious?? (engine, servos, strter box... I already have the basic nitro accessories from my GT)

get spare parts. and go ahead and get the aluminum front upper and lower B-blocks. they were the first thing to break on my buggy. nothing else so far. use Mike Dunn's setup. also, 5k/7k/2k diff fluid setup.

yes. there are no mill outs, which lower many of the components on the chassis. yor handling will suffer.

The only difference between the RTR chassis and the pro chassis are the material (6061 vs. 7075 aluminum) and the pro chassis is hard anodized, the RTR isn't. Both have the same number of cutout and the height of all the components stays the same (unless they have changed the design?). The RTR chassis will increase the amount of flex your buggy has, thus making it easier to drive in some conditions (extremely rough).

on the other hand, the rtr chassis is much more easier to drive..?? the principal: more flex more easier
