Hello,

Seems to me that the CR8's kingpin offset is more important than the one we have in other car like Losi or Mugen.

Am i right ?

If so, won't it be bad for steering, breakind and handling ?

What do you mean by kingpin offset? I've never heardof that term before. The caster and steering inclination is about the same as most buggies.

Kinda wondering what the caster is on the CR8. Adding caster to my D8 made a world of difference.

I had heard that the CR8 may release sometime in January but of course anything can happen. Gotta be sooner than later at this point.

The amount of caster is a tuning option. More or less is not necessarily bad. Depends on the complete suspension layout.

I think I read on the update that it has 25deg caster blocks. Didn't the d8 have 10deg blocks? More caster mellows the car out?

I highly doubt it'd have 25deg caster block's, 25deg overall maybe. Remember there is a certain amount of caster built into the hub's themselves.

the D8 has 20 degrees of total caster, 10 degrees in the chassis kick up and 10 degrees in the caster blocks. Chances are the CR8 will have 25 degrees total, 10 degrees in the chassis kick up and 15 degrees in the caster block.

I sent HB an email about an estimate on release.

Michael,

Thank you for contacting HPI Racing and HB. We are currently looking at a late janurary, early feburary release. I cant give you a exact date as we are still in development of the product. I currently don’t have MAP pricing on the CR8. Please check on hotbodiesonline.com for any additional updates.

Which most likely means we won't be getting it until at least mid Feb.

That is correct. The caster blocks are going to be 15 degrees.

As for the release date...
Please be patient with the Product. We are getting very close to the release of the product. It has come to the final revisions and then completing the instruction manual. If anybody has any specific questions or concerns feel free to contact me by email or PM.

I will definitely be buying one when they are released. Too bad it didn't make a Christmas release but at least it will be here for spring.

No problem. HB has done me good over the years and want to keep it going with the CR8. Just can't help itching for that new ride.
