I suppose the release date is getting a little closer. How cool would it be if it was released right before Christmas. Nothing like sitting by the fire building a new kit.
Greg that would be nice. Anyone know what D8 parts will carry over to the cr8? Hopefully the diffs and shock.

I think a little much is being made over the composite chassis. This car has been tested and tested.
I've been on site several times and seen Jesse run this car. I've not seen any issues.
I have no doubt about the R/D of the car. Just wondered if how much of a heat difference will be from having an entire chassis as a heat sink vs. a small plate. If this works, it makes me wonder if all that heat absorption from the chassis was necessary.

I believe shocks and center diff. Front and rear diffs are different.

Introduction rerun.

The engine heat isn't an issue, it's sort of better on the CR8. Takes good amount less time to pre-heat engine via Competition engine warmer or while doing warm-up laps on the track. Engine tune & temp is the same or very close if used an engine in D8 and transferred the same engine to the CR8. I started racing the car since about about February-March 2011 in a good amount of 45min, 30min, 60min finals and it's been good.

cooling efficiency is partially determined by the temperature differential...a small alu chassis insert will run hotter then a full alu chassis...But because the insert runs hotter it will shed heat easier.......the overall cooling to the engine should be similar....the difference will be is that the insert will be able to heat up and cool down faster then a full alu chassis........

That's good news! Thanks for the info. Anything else you want to share with us?

btw, congratulations to Jesse and Josh on the win at the RC Pro Finals!
Double win for the CR8

Wonder what parts, ie suspension, will transfer over to the d8? I run a converted d8 using the tekno kit.

Shocks are same, turnbuckles same, diffs 90%+ the same (f/r crown gears are different). Chassis parts, suspension parts, majority of drivetrain parts are unique to the CR8.

Anyone else here weirded out by the battery tray being directly underneath the fuel tank? I am sure it works fine, but it makes me do a double take.

A lot of on road nitro cars have the battery under the tank this concept is nothing new.

The CR8 will be leading the crowd and not following as most have been doing with their minor tweaks. The new brands entering the marketplace are really just old news. That's OK, but it's not innovative. I don't have a problem with battery placement.
