I'm merely a messenger. Besides, I was tired of studying for my finals so I had nothing better to do....Three more days! Aaron, now that you're officially out of school (I think) are you taking a year off of jobs and college searches to hit every race this side of the equator? Or are you going straight to school? What college are you thinking about going to?

Peace!

Aaron, thanks for your help again.

I'm looking forward to getting the MF2 tomorrow and the LST soon.

Have you been using the MF2? What are your impressions of the stock setup and do you recommend any adjustments to it?

Have you had a chance to use the LST? When do you hear it should be hitting hobby shops?

Which pre-programmed throttle profile do you recommend for stock racing with the GT7 esc? I've heard profiles 3 or 6 might be ok.

Thanks, Tim

Thanks

mafia - I finished finals on Thursday..graduation is Tuesday

I will be taking a full load at the local community college to get my general education classes taken care of, and still try to attend as many events next year as possible.

d mac - I run Novak's Switch module and XXTra receivers in my electric cars, and they're great. It's such a convenience to be able to dial in your frequency and go, instead of hassling with crystals. For gas truck, you need to make sure he reciever box is sealed from dirt and fuel very well, and to mount the reciever correctly (not on the chassis). I have plenty of friends that use them in their gas trucks and 1/8th scale buggies with no problems at all.

All radio systems will be synthesized soon; Airtronics is getting ready to release their own as well.

timmerica - My MF2 is still sitting in a bag..I haven't started building it yet. When the team gets home from the Nationals on Monday, I will post a good starting setup.

The LST is dialed..it's a total blast to drive. It should be here before the end of June I believe.

Profile 6 has the most punch. Profile 5 is a little softer initially but has more mid-high range power.

Aaron,

What color zip ties do you use to hold your tuned pipe & header together, air filter on, school lockers shut?

Troy - 2500 lockers in one hour..that's pretty fast!

Jon - Revelation and The Dirt are usually too loamy for those tires. There are times when Studs or IFMAR Pins work best at The Dirt, but I've never been to Revelation where it wasn't really loamy.

King Pins are aimed at tracks where you would use a Pro-Line Holeshot. Hot Rod Hobbies is a great example.

Default GT7 Setup

I have a question reguarding the GT7 setup. I have an M8 and I'm familiar with the settings for A-D. Not sure what the 'middle setting' on E is exactly meaning. I'm also not familiar with F and G. Do these apply to the M8 and if so what settings are these? Thanks.

For proper ESC operation, adjust transmitter as follows:
A. Set HIGH ATV or EPA to maximum setting.
[amount of throw at full throttle]
B. Set LOW ATV, EPA, or ATL to maximum setting.
[amount of throw at full brakes]
C. Set EXPONENTIAL to zero setting.
[throttle channel linearity]
D. Set THROTTLE CHANNEL REV. SWITCH to either position.
E. Set THROTTLE CHANNEL TRIM to middle setting.
[adjusts neutral position/increases or decreases coast brakes]
F. Set ELECTRONIC TRIGGER THROW ADJUSTMENT to
70% throttle and 30% brake throw (or 7:3).
[adjusts trigger throw electronic/digital pistol-grip transmitters]
G. Set MECHANICAL TRIGGER THROW ADJUSTMENT
to position with 2/3 throttle and 1/3 brake throw.
[adjusts trigger throw on mechanical/analog pistol-grip transmitters]

"E" = throttle trim... IE, the little meter with an L at one side and H at the other. It is located just beside the steering trim meter.... the adjuster is at about 9 o'clock in relation to the steering wheel... it is labeled "trim-th"

"F & G" -- you do not need to worry about these settings with your M8, it is already set for 70/30. This means that approximately 70% of the trigger throw is allocated to throttle and 30% is allocated to brakes.

Hope this helps clear things up a bit

Thanks Steve!

WATTSON - Allow the parts plenty of time to seat together and break in before you run it on the track. Try using Associated Black Grease for the thrust bearing as well.

Hope that helps.
