Well I have went through much of this thread and finally made it to the end.

I purchased my S811 couple weekends ago from my LHS in Porter, TX. My sons and I put the car together as a father son project which took us 14 hours over two weekends. It as been 12 years since I built my last R/C car which was a HPI NitroRS4 on-road car, so my knowledge is pretty outdated.

Before the S811 we did buy a E-Revo, two Slash 4x4, and two Rustlers, but we wanted to get a higher end buggy to race at our local track.

Build went okay, but like most I struggled a little with the instructions. Nothing we were not able to overcome and luckily we did not break anything along the way.

Unfortunately we have not been able to start the car since our LHS is out of starter boxes. Praying one comes in today.

Anyway, glad to be part of the growing number of S811 owners.

Troy

I'm using the OFNA box, and oddly enough I barely had to move anything from my old D8T setup and the buggy lined up perfect.

Hey guys, just noticed that my steering seems tight (with the buggy turned off) by just turning the wheels left and right, what would you guys look into first? maybe I built something a little tighter than it needs to be.

Just received the steering rack #2, blue front springs, green rear springs and off to the races tomorrow!

The 2 screws that hold the steering rack might be to tight. This happened to me and I just backed them out a little and all was fine

One side of the steering rack can tighten up. The opposite side can loosen. Use a little blue loctite on the threads and put some light grease on the part that pivots in the bushings of the steering rack. Other than that check all the parts that can bind. Tie rod ends, steering uprights...

the box stock clutch is freaking fantastic, black shoes last for days, no problem, lights up the wheels and goes hard.
Just make sure no oil, like after run, gets into the clutch area. My engines seem to leak a bit through the bearings.
