The motor has good topend feel, the 9853 will add top also but lose a little bottom, i would recommend the long header with a 9901, the 9901 has a tic less top but improves bottom on most NR engines, or a Jp3, but i like the Nova's.

Thought the 9853 is a bottom end pipe?

the 9901 is said to be the 3 chamber replacement for the 9853, but the 901 still has more bottom than the 53, and with the long header it produces alot, this is only what we have seen on the modded engines, but they are tested stock and we get the same results as far as what the pipe does. The 53 wouod be good but for the most bottom i like the 9901 with long header.

9853 is top ?? interesting . didn't we all just go through this in a different thread ?? its all in good fun though

9901 is not a 3 chamber pipe either , it is a new design as far as the internals but not a 3 chamber
i found some great combos for the 367 , turbo button 28011 , odo 97t , extra .10 mm head shim , 9853 with short header . you will like it or i will eat my shorts not really but you will like it

Good set up what Houston mentioned, if your track is larger and flows the 9853 is fine, smaller tracks i like the 9901, although alot of guys run the 9901 on big tracks also with the 21-5, 200+ foot straits, either is good, I just prefer the 9901 if your going to run a NR pipe.

if you have a friend who has a few extra pipes in his box see if you can run a couple combos of pipes and see what you think is best . if you are going with a super long header i would reccomend an 9886 pipe to increase the powerband as your long header will make up for the short pipe in the volume dept. . 9886 pipe doesn't necessarily decrease low end power but actually increases the powerband effect of an engine i dont know much but i do know nitro big block theory 101 , i passed that course
happy motorin' ,
monty
just dont use jp pipes !!!

Sorry to confuse....To clarify between the 2 pipes 9901 and 9853 the 9901 is the bottom pipe and the 9853 is the mid top pipe. This is what I have found.

I am not comparing the Nova 9853 to any other brand pipe. I pretty much stick to these two pipes. Im sure others have found other good combos but I like to limit my options so I can concentrate on other things.

I have run the Long round short round short square and long square.
I go with the short round and 9853 for buggy with the my current engines.
