Ive ran Carbon tower's for quite a few year's now on my Losi's. For the most part if you dont race on LARGE Nitro Pit Style tracks you'll be fine. If your a New guy who's just learning the ropes I would highly suggest they stick with the stock parts. Carbon can and will break Yes, But for the most part its a justified break. Ive never broken a tower from something that wouldn't have done similar damage to the Stock alum parts.

That Does it I'm sold.
Im deffenetly getting the CG front tower If I dont like it I can always throw the stock one back on as its in fine shape.
The V2 rear will be here nxt week with the extra outter holes im exited about that because the rear will turn in a bit better.:sneaky:
Our track is quite technicle with a few jumps but no huge jumps so I think the lighter front tower combined with the V2 rear will be killer in the tight corners.
Thanks to everyone for your input It has been verry valuble as always.
Cheers.

From the looks of it the rear CG tower has the extra holes the V2 tower does. ;)

Let's talk track conditions going blue groove. Say the track starts out sort of dusty sort of loose but real good to drive on. As the track goes to a blue groove what sort of setup changes does anyone make?

I'm finding that as the condition groove my truck gets totally locked in in the rear. It will not rotate near as well in these conditions. So like on qualifying day the truck is awesome with a small amount of loam and by the end of Mains day the track is totally blue groove and it won't float around the track. The rear locks in and won't let go. LOL.

Is there a 'standard' sort of shock/camber link setting when using the V2 rear tower? the out of box setup is pretty good every where but have a V2 tower coming to try. I looked at drakes std setup with v2 but it doesn't appear to be any different than normal,

The Only thing that really helps me in those conditions Is to go to a softer compound tyre.
if your already running super soft then try with your settings to get as much rubber on the track as possible.

goatbongoboy 05-16-2011 07:07 AM

try less droop in the rear by 5-6mm it will help it roatate

well it depends on what conditions the track becomes as it becomes "Blue-Grooved" some tracks become abrasive, some become "Slick" if the track becomes very "Slick" almost like smooth Concrete, go to a compound most of the other drivers are going to for the "Track" it is being run.......
since the tires for the Losi's seem to help with 95% of the handling.
also if once tire changes are almost there, but in need of more
the Manual gives some excelent points to follow when trying to pin-point when your trying to get the truck to do......
another thing to try is the rear link.
99% of the time most will never try different rear link postions....
the HUDY set up guide is a good primer to help with this as well.
when you change the links in the rear be sure to have someone "Time-You" i see many make this "Mistake"
and say, "Well it LOOKS FAST" but the stop watch doesnt lie.....

if it looks like your not moving! but your going "Faster" and the lap times say differently! your going in the right direction! if it looks like it's Blazing fast and on the border of out of control !! but your lap times are "Slower" go back to last settings !!

one good thing is you "Know" the rear is "Locked In" if you have this everything else is simple, since most of the time people are trying to gain rear traction!
if you have rear traction, set your droop with less arm travel
(think On-Road)
set a little less both front and rear.....
but do not take all the travel away.....
hit track again,take notes

then try more front camber this will help with Steering......
hit track again,and take notes

if you still can not get it to rotate???
there are a few other things to try,but a simple one is go to
3/A if you have the V2 tower....
hit track,take notes....

it will turn on a dime and give it back!! but will not be as "Stable"
may have to go up in the rear diff oil......
there is allot more but just a couple of small things can try "First"
:):)

What is everyone's favorite balancer? I am thinking about getting the DUBRO Tru-Spin balancer. Is this good for 1/8 buggy and truggy? Should i get this to go with it?

I use the dubro balancer and love it.

just a quick question, i just got a 48t spur, whats the best way to go, 48t with 13 or 14t bell or 50t? looking for smoothness and run time mainly, our local track is large with 2 long straights about 110 to 120 feet long with technical section inbetween. any advice?

rider313 05-17-2011 05:23 PM

Well I felt ambitious today and made myself a pit caddie. Yea I know ppl have done it before and I am not the first. But here is my new way to hall my truck to pit lane.

(still needs handles)
