M2C RACING is pleased to announce the release of our new conical hole shock
pistons. Made with delrin and held to .004 less than the shock body to give a very smooth action.
Piston holes are drilled to 1.2 dia.
After much testing by Barry pettit and Josh holifield we have come up with a piston that gives about the same pack on the compression stroke
(UP) as stock and super quick decompression stroke(down) that helps the vehicle settle much quicker after a jump or rough track. This means you can get on
the throttle quicker. Barry proved this at the Physco nitro this past weekend.
Note: you may have to change shock fluids to fit your driving style.

what rear toe brace are you using??? if its the stock 3.5 degrees then its way to much find a 3.0 from a buggy and that should help alot

Go back to the original Drake set up, you will be better off. There has been way to many changes from stock set up, all the pro's spend a lot of time with these RC cars, and.come up with the set up that is all around best for these cars. Make one change at a time, then understand the change you have made, then go from that point if its not reacted on the change your looking for. Everyone has different style of driving, find set up that will suit your style, then enjoy what your doing.

Haha, I'm always up early, that's just what old people do! Gotta go to work, to support my RC addiction.

dturbocivic 03-18-2011 06:30 AM

your probably right. my friends truggy is basicly setup as stock and its a shit-ton better handling than my pos.

as for my rear tow "link" i gotta pull the cover off it and see what inserts i got in there.

boomgagem 03-18-2011 11:09 AM

Yeah as much as I like Barry, he doesn't wheel a Losi, LOL

rider313 03-18-2011 02:15 PM

Mitch told me he is planning on making these for the 8ights to. I am excited they seam to be trick. :p

What's so different about them except for the color? I'm hearing conical! Is there a profile pic of these?

Inferno,
How do you get to the back pinch bolt on that horn that comes in from the center diff side?

I believe the holes are conical, not the whole piston.;)

aznitronut 03-18-2011 08:51 PM

I have not seen them in person, if your talking conical, it could be like the Kyosho shock pistons, they are like a dome top to the piston, or some could say, conical.

8ight-t 2.0

I have one question, i searched and i ended it up with even more questions. I took my rear diff out for a rebuilt which it was almost bone dry on fluid. upon tear down there was 3 shims on the left side (looking at the rear) and one on the right side. ok fine, i didnt bother me, but went i went to put it together it felt nothcy. Losi says

The 8T 2.0 comes with (2) .25mm shims
and (1) .10mm shims on the left bearing
insert. On the right bearing insert there are
(3) .10mm shims. We advise that you start
with this gear mesh with your new vehicle.
so thats a total of 6 shims? i ordered the new shims but for the mean time i ended it up with the only 4 shims i have on the left side (looking at the rear) now it feel a bit notchy with a slight tight spot once i spin it a full rotation.

which way is it? am i doing it wrong or is it ok?:confused:

These pistons work really well. The holes where the fluid passes through is conical on one side. They seal well in the shock tube forcing the fluid to go through the holes and give a consistent feel. The conical hole works as described above. It was evident especially on the lighter SCT trucks that were running the pistons as they went through the "shock therapy" section suprisingly well. You can run a slightly thicker oil for more pack but still get the rebound of a lighter oil. :) They should work well on the Losi also.

Read back a few pages there's many many opinions on shiming the r/p. I always shimmed it so it was smooth but that's my opinion.
