oh and the reason for the small block engine is: they say the power to weight ratio, makes it a pretty fast car!....and this car weighs a good CHUNK less then the 8b2.0....they say that the power they got out of the 3.4(which is a .21 displacement lol)small block was good enough to pull this LIGHTER buggy around the track for the NEWCOMER that wants to go out and club race!

Watched the video awhile ago. Nice little review. Anyway, this useless debate doesn't belong in here.;)

yup,my bad.....soooo actually i was wondering what was every body's thoughts on the difference between 3k and 2k in the rear diff?.....

deadmancourt 09-24-2010 12:45 PM

what kind of tracks do you guys usually run on out there?....our tracks are STRAIGHT UP SUPERCROSS TRACKS! but just shrunk down alittle lol big jumps, lots of whoops, only 1 straight(not too long) and lots of U turns right before big sets of jumps and whatnot!....

2k will feel more free and make the truck rotate a bit better. 3k will be more locked in and provide better forward acceleration. 2k breaks down faster than 3k in a truggy which is why I personally use 3k. Once it breaks in a bit it will feel like fresh 2k and last much longer. 2k feels a bit watery after it breaks in. That's my experience.;)

WOW do we really need to continue this silly debate. It is NOT 1/8 scale. Maybe in size, but not in design. Period! I've seen quite a few TEN-T's and they aren't 1/8 scale either. This is merely a TEN-T buggy. When have you seen any true 1/8 scale buggy use a small block engine?;)

Losi calls it 1/8 scale because it is similar in size to a 1/8 scale buggy. But if we follow that logic, SC trucks should be called 1/8 scale as well.;)

A few years ago people were using the OS .18TZ in 1/8buggies. Since the some .21 are so overpowered there were people moving towards the .18 engines. I think that was for a worlds warm up race in 2007 or something. It was pretty cool but I liked my super power .21 too much. LOL.

It's just a preference thing, or a proper setup for the day thing. I usually on use 7-10-5 for truggy. There are times where stepping up the center is needed. And at other times I'll drop the rear to 3K. And it will take time to learn what is needed and when.

I used to run that some back when I ran the 1.0. I think I still preferred 3k though.:weird:;)

i have a t 2.0 and a 2.0 starter box and the flywheel doesnt touch the starter wheel. any ideas on what i have to do.thanks

depending on the track i use either 5k or 3k in rear. Keep one of each prebuilt at all times.

3k will free the truck up and allow it to rotate more at the expense of forward acceleration.;)
