Yea, I replace tanks all the time too. Funny thing is I replaced it right before this race. Then the CB screw came out and basically destroyed everything. One little screw and you're replacing $$$$ worth of parts.:cry: Oh well...:o
The second tank I replaced this weekend(really the third of the weekend) was leaky right out of the bag.:mad: Its Almost like you need a little piece of CF where that screw has the potential to ruin a race.....;) http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...DSC_0040-1.jpg |

well i learned to make sure, the screw is tight and locktite too and alum tape on the back of the tank which helped big time ! i never had a clutch screw come loose after that. |

I run in the Forward position in truggy so my screw touches All the time and the Plate would actually keep the screw in place if it were to ever back out....So you might be "Screwed" meanwhile ill still have a chance. (Yes ive had the screw work loose and was still able to finish the race, But did notice Something was going terribly wrong LOL)

Wow, yeah that would put that screw right up against the tank. Makes sense to me. But damn, you got lucky if you made it through a race with that screw backing out. I noticed a slight grinding noise about half a lap before it started shooting sparks.:lol::lol:
Ive seen the sparks before on others who have had the end bell screw back out.....its quite a sight to see. |
Jeesh! And I bitch when I wear out a rod end, or somethin. You guys are tough on parts! LOL!!
