You will need 107mm turnbuckles as well to do Jimmy's setup.

If for some reason you can't find the 107mm the lunsford 105mm work too.

Yeah, I guess I should have noted that on my setup sheet. I am using 107mm front 8T 2.0 turnbuckles in the rear. I've been meaning to switch over to Lunsford's for some time now, but they're always backordered when I'm making an order. I'm sure they save quite a bit of weight.

I would imagine. I've been working on shedding some weight from mine. I'm not going crazy about it, but I wouldn't mind it being a bit lighter. I already have all of the lightened driveline parts and a few of the titanium bits.

Yeah, that's what I mean by not going crazy. I don't like titanium screws because they tend to snap much easier than steel screws. I just want to do the turnbuckles and shock standoffs. I already have the titanium kingpins.

Well, I took the SD out today and put in a new centre diff. I really didn't like it. The SD felt so much better, the rear was extremely loose today whereas before the car was so neutral and easy to drive. Not sure why this would be the case though? Any ideas?
I must be honest though, the smart diff felt really rough when I took it out. Guess it needs a rebuild and this after just one race meeting and 2 quali heats. I only did 2 5 minute qualifiers with it today before I whipped it out to try the standard diff. How often were you guys re-greasing / rebuilding them when you were running them? |
Regarding the smartdiff service intervals...
If you're going to run the Losi 'smart' grease; it needs to be serviced after every race weekend. It breaks down pretty quickly to me. Typical race weekend being about 40-45mins total runtime. |
i like the standard diff better. i tried the SD front and center and just made the diff action weird to me. i knew it would be different but i just didn't like the way the truck felt on power in the turns. anyone looking for a front and center smart diff pm me. i will give you a smok'n deal.

standard diff is awsome. i dont think im ever going back

X2....My grease went South on me today.....Motor was doing it's thing...but the truck sure wasn't. Granted i slacked and didn't rebuild the diff last week....lol |
