Rebuilding my truck right now for a big race this weekend and found a few things. I have been having a little problem with a front end push. I notice I have the 2mm hubs up front. How many guys are still running these with the AKA wheels and what are your thoughts now? I also found a broken AKA rim. That's my first one and I don't know if it came off the front or rear. I do have my front arms ground down for more clearance though. I'm wondering if the push isn't being caused by the wider hubs and will the AKA wheels be ok without them? Thank God for the CVD condoms up front, because it was the only thing holding the pin in.:weird:

Anybody still using the 2mm hubs up front with the AKA rims? Are they even needed?

I still run the +2mm all the way around. 75% of my AKA rims have cracked. I recently tried the new proline revolver and caliber treads and new proline rims - no cracking at all.

Wow...

So yesterday I walked into my garage and saw my truggy sitting on my work bench. The front bumper was sitting on the ground...so I go over to it

Someone literally smashed my fucking truck. I dont know how, or why, or who, for that matter, but it looks like someone took my truck off my work bench, put it under there tired, rolled over it, broke an Aluminum shock tower, bent a big bore shock, broke an a-arm, and literally smashed a brand new wheel with brand new city-blocks on it...and nobody has said a damn thing about it....

Next subject. I've been having problems with my rear diff as I explained earlier. Some people said it was in backwards (which I dont see how it is possible with these diffs) and my rear wheels lock up when moved forward. The front wheels roll fine, and the truck rolls ok backwards, before some no good coward asshole ruined my truck and didn't tell me.

So what could this diff problem be? I'm very confused about it.

sounds like you or who ever did your diffs put it in up side down in the bulkhead..

racer357 07-29-2009 12:13 PM

It is impossible to install Losi diffs backwards. they wont fit in the bulkheads at all.

reggie l. 07-29-2009 12:15 PM

well im stumped...

Thats what I thought. Any other ideas?

Dude...Who would've smashed your truck in your garage??!! Maybe it was left on the floor or rolled off the bench and someone accidently rolled over it? I'd be interrogating the hell out of everyone in the house!!!
My wife has threatened me with that if I keep spending $$$ on R/C:lol:

i think you have bigger issue's then just the rear diff.

All joking aside....if you didn't shim the rear diff properly the teeth could be skipping on themselves or you could have a sticky brake cam on the rear....you have to look at thing's and try and trace it back to what the problem is....if you new to the hobby have a more experienced guy check it out...preferably one who run's the same brand as yours.

GMS_Racing 07-29-2009 05:43 PM

are alot of people running the 2mm offset hubs??

jsmax 07-29-2009 07:31 PM

Not running any offset hubs front or rear on the truck.

On the rear diff issue, I am guessing it is a pinion issue. Take the pinion out and check it (Don't just look at it in the case either).....I fought a rear diff issue for a while cause at the top the pinion looked fine, but at the bottom it was no good. Also, check the bearings. The pinion seems to be the weak spot.
