I encountered the dreaded rear hub bearing blow out last weekend while practicing at a pretty bumpy track. I noticed after I ran out of gas I picked up my truck and saw my inner hub bearing's outer race on my cvd axle.
These were the factory bearings, I have a complete Boca Bearing Ceramic kit coming and gonna change em' all out before race season starts next week. Its funny I raced all last season and not a single bearing blowout, I have had the truck on the track three times now and a blow out already.

Aaron,
There was a bad batch of bearings. But, you also need to take out the side play in the rear axels. Use LOSB3951 13mm shims. $3.00 You will like these. Mike Stanton

13mm shim's for the axle ? you need a 8mm shim for the axle hex's.

these are what you need for shimming the hex's.....i would recommend leaving a tick of play in them tho....as if you take up all the slop you will junk out bearings even faster.

Whats Up Integra? I said 13mm for the axel. Of coarse you wouldn't shim it tight. 1 shim is all you need. I've helped several with this and they all have loved it. You are thinking of the other end. Shims on that end get trashed from the pin. If you do it from the other end they will never get trashed.

I finally took the time to upload some pix of my rig, so here it is. Nothing special just an 8T 2.0 with some options. Body is painted by Chuck at Ridgeway bodies. www.ridgewaybodies.com.

Default HUB bearing upgrade

I received my J-Dub special rear hubs today with the larger otter bearings. I hope this will solve the re-occurring bearing issue. I will post after a few races. Thanks J-Dub the workmanship is factory quality.

Do we need to put o-rings under the radio tray like the 1.0?
