Went out to Hotrods last night and tried out the new diff fluid. I went 7-10-7 and it helped in the corners. Gotta try some other combos to see what works best. Also went 50wt front and 45wt in the rear. Still dunno if its better or not. Need more testing but its tough when its so much fun to drive!

There was a decent SC8 turnout last night. I think there were 6 signed up.

After seing Associated's Ryan Maifield drive one at my track, it was the easiest sale in the world. I won't drive mine like that, but we all have dreams right?

He told me he did 3 changes right off:

1. Thicker oil in the rear (didn't ask what weight, but 45 sounds right from what you guys are doing).
2. Aluminum clutch shoes.
3. Different pipe (I've put a JP1 on and the exahust is very short. The stock pipe has an extention on it to get the exhaust away).

His was taking a MASSIVE beating. I got no worries.

Coolest RC car I have ever seen. Period.

I have a few questions to people that have driven these.....

Do you feel the .28 motor is a bit much? I was thinking of sticking a spare .21 in there. A few people at my track that drove it thought it was a handful.

If so, it seemed I was stuck with using the AE motor mount that comes with it, cuz mine wouldn't match up. There's some funky plates on there that the motor mount attaches to.

Anyhoo...here's mine:

i still dunno why they put you guys in there with the crt.5's and 1/10ths why not give you your own class now or mix you in with buggies..they do look sweet driving around hot rod though

markhat250 - This is my first .28 and 1/8th scale so i dont really know. To me it feels like the motors meat is all down low. Kinda seems it drops off pretty quick on the top end. I still need to get the motor tuned a little better. More then anything, more driving time.

NitroLuver - Ya I thought that was pretty lame they put us in with the crt.5s and 1/10ths. We even asked if we could have our own class because we had 6 entries. I felt bad bumping into some of those smaller trucks.

man would have thought with 6 of you they would put you on your own

Im running 777 and 45 in the rear now. The truck is a little easier to drive but like Cru, this is my first 1/8 scale and its a whole different animal. I need to fine tune my brake bias and it should be much better. I found that my engine runs best around 230 deg. It is also getting better mileage as i run mure gas through it.

CRU- they should have put us in our own class, noone likes to race with a 1/8 scale unless they have one.

Here Ya Go

I earlier wondered about the .28 possibly being too much motor. I asked this FIRST so I could possibly sell it off. Anyhoo, I decided to keep the stock motor and now after driving it feel the .28 is perfect for this car. I do drive on a smaller track where I need a little oomph in small bursts. I too noticed that once I hit the straight that it tops off fairly quick.

The stock motor is pretty decent. The car as a whole, for being an RTR is actually really nice. I switched over to the AE Factory chromie pipe, took the threaded shocks from my RC8, and going to bling it with the annodized blue chassis supports (RC8T). That's about it.

This really isn't setup talk......but just praising the truck in it's stock form I guess. I love this thing!!
