Hey guys,
I'm wanting to know if anyone is selling or wanting to sell a set of big bores?? I'm wanting to put a set of them on my sc8. Thanks guys.. |
Ok is there a difference between the older sc8 shocks from an older mode from a 2012model none .2
|
I'm liking this Nosram RS.30RR (LRP 30 truggy version) more and more.. OK, I got it as they were being sold off dirt cheap (€65 inc. shipping), but hey, for the performance at that price, can't beat it with a stick.. The LRP's are still going for €200+.. It also amazingly has very good run time - like a .21 I would say - with the JP-4 pipe.. Haven't timed it, but to guess I would say it must be near ten minutes.. Amazing how long a tank lasts..
Nothing spectacular, just messing around in a parking lot..: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8XhXFWIZe8 18T CB with Fioroni slider clutch btw.. OS A5, %25 Tornado "Ready to Race" (%11 oil), 7mm venturi. Big Bores, Reckward alu top-plate, and that's it for tuning.. Some cheap crappy onroad buggy tires, which are now pretty bald. |
Hey guys,
Great news. Mike over @ RC Monster has made the world's only available CNC 7075-T6 shock tower upgrades for the Associated SC8 (about bloody time !). There are a couple of clips of them on youtube. I have purchased a pair myself. Let's show our support for the man and do pass this info on to others. Cheers. |
sc8.2e basher and drifter
Ok as luck would have it
Last week my dad surprised me with an sc8.2e complete set With lipo and charger I love everything about this rockstar truck I just love how the tail slides and counter steer it lol As luck would have it I just recieved another sc8.2e From my aunty Since i already used my first sc8 on dirt Ill keep tbat as a basher And this second one Im thinking of it as just for show? I want to turn it in to a drifter wth lights etc. I dont know anything about drifting Can someone help me out Do i need to change anything? Or will it over heat the motor? I know some guys have been using pvc on tbeir rims and thats about it But i want to learn how to drift Should be easy to drift with this truck since its 4x4 |
Can you run the 16mm x 32 mm front truggy shocks on the SC8. If you can what advantage would it give you. Can someone tell me the difference the big bore shocks make and does it help any with the nose diving when jumping? Thanks guys
|
Bump, before I spend money on something I don't need.
|
Longer shafts, more travel.. Depends what you want to do with it.. For serious racing, bug shocks probably better.. For messing around, no big dif probably..
|
Do you know if the 16mm x 32mm will work on the SC8. I race mine a good bit in the truggy class and can honestly say give them a run for the money but it does need better shocks. I guess I was just wondering if the 32mm's would work and if anybody had tried them.

Really, really like the Nosram 30 with 18T CB in the SC8...:
But want to see what this can do.. Breaking it in in the SC8, then planning to put it in the RC8T... Got about three uneventful tanks through today. Can't say much yet.. Takes FOREVER for a tank to empty though.. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...902_101125.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...902_190056.jpg Got a used RC8T CE truggy roller, and gonna' sell my 10-tank old RC8.2. On the one hand, with the buggy I can share wheels, arms, etc.. with the SC8, but with the RC8T there's less part crossover, but I can at least use the same starter box.. |

By the look of the tires, this RB F11 seems to have a lot of power :)
|
That's more down to the Nosram .30...
Was getting on the F11 a bit today..: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WRg6cWpDEY Has a great top end, but for all-out ballsy caveman thumping grunt, the Nosram 30 has it by a good margin.. And not that bad a top end either.. The Fire is nice though. Still fairly young - so more to come I hope.. The F11 is destined for my RC8T.. The SC8 is my break-in/testing platform.. ;) And I must say, it has been an awesome, AWESOME RC.. Gallons and gallons, and no issues.. I'd buy another. |
Does any know a good droop setting for the SC8. How many mm of droop is a good all around setup but still does not bottom the axle out in the diff cup?
|
I run full droop and never had an issue with handling.
|
Do you know the setting in mm's with a caliper. I ran full droop with no screw touching at all and bent 2 front axles. Really never landed it fun or anything and nothing was binding.
