I know a local hobbie shop that has sold 4 of them, me and 4 of my friends have them and am just waiting for the season to start. My sons ate a piston and cylinder on his SC8 because of the air cleaner and just waiting for the new P&L to come in.

Nice review.... Thanks |
I think the filter just got to dirty and we were driving our SC8's in some really silty dirt. I think my son might have dumped fuel on the filter and that would have rinsed the dirt right in.

Yep that probably did it  I have yet to even start mine it is now in the 20's outside and about 7 in of snow Did you guys just break the motor in with the needle settings the way they come Thanks I can not find a break in procedure anywhere in the instructions |
I did not because i live at 5800 feet of altitude and from my experience with dynoing full size race car engines we lose 30 to 35 percent at this altitude. So no i did not use the factory settings.

Yeah usually they say how they want the engine to be broken in and what settings to start with

Here is mine. I have added the following:
FT threaded shocks with 40wt oil FT titanium turnbuckles FT front and rear alluminum braces FT hard clutch shoes with 1.1 springs JP3 pipe Worked stock .28 motor FT CF servo plate(sitting on work bench) http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4271.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4169.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4170.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4171.jpg The motor http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4175.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4189.jpg http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...5/IMG_4191.jpg With the work I did to the motor I can get allmost 12 minutes run time, depending on my driving. Its also really, really snappy. I have a brand new JPX .28 and the stock motor has'nt given me an excuse to drop it in:spidey: |
